I started to go to KVC years ago when I adopted my first cat (and got a second cat two years later). Most of the reviews for KVC were poor compared to other vets but I had no car and it was the closest to cab so felt I had to go here. However, every single experience has been a positive one. All front staff and the vets are professional, kind and courteous. They were supportive when it was time to euthanized each of my cats and I will continue to take future cats here. I usually preferred to go to my favourite vet but I like that there are other vets on duty to help when my cats were unexpectedly sick. Prices are comparable to others in the area.

We took our cat in on June 14 2015, she was very sick, instead of treating our cat Dr Christin Brandon was only interested in seeing how much money she could get out of us. Instead of just telling us our cat was dying she tried sucking $1600.00 out of us first. When we first took our cat in, I thought the doctor was getting a needle to get blood work from my cat. Over 20 minutes later she returns with a clip board and a paper that showed how much the service could run us that night, she still was not interested in my cat, she just wanted to see how much she could get out of greiving people

Front desk staff is almost always rude or condescending. They are very pushy about unnecessary treatments such as the Lyme vaccine, nexguard, advantix/advantage, and their prescription food. My dog is epileptic, and has adverse reactions to almost everything. The Lyme shot swelled at the injection site for three days and my dog couldn't move without crying. They gave him the bordatella vaccine intranasally and he ended up so sick with bordatella he almost died. Luckily Dr. Ross treated my dog free of charge for their mistake, but they will try to convince you to pay ridiculous amounts of money for extra blood work you don't need and prescription food you didn't ask for. Rude. Overpriced. Never on time. Uncaring. Don't take your pets here.

Dr.Cady was our dogs doctor, but unfortunately she left the clinic.Few months ago we took our dog back for an eye exam,we had a concern that he might have a cataract.Instead of approaching our dog in a nice doctor's manner, some new doctor was very cautious of our doggy who is only a medium size cute little guy,a bit shaky and scared though, but not aggressive at all.First the doctor asked me(a small lady) to pick the dog up on the table and then to put him down on the floor because he could not even touch him- like our little dog was some kind of big scary monster. It was so strange to just look at that and how he treated the dog.In my opinion Vets are doctors for the animals and thus should have a right approach to them, animal doctor should not be afraid of the animals!!Never the less, the exam was only for the eye, which was extremely short and ended with a referral to the specialist. For only a short visit and a doctor who did not basically do anything I paid around $140.00.

ITS THE STAFF. They are uncaring, rude, unapproachable. I was charged the wrong price for my cats med's the first time I got them- So the next time I went to pick up his med's and they told me this new price (went from 18.00 to 60.00!), naturally, I was a little upset and asked for an explanation. They basically told me too bad, and deal with it. I only had a $20 on me, and had left work early to come here. I asked to buy 1 tube (as my cat was out and I only had the $20) and they declined and sent me away. So when I got the rest of the money together, I sent my mom to the office as I could not get out of work. She went to pick up the full $60 amount... and came home with one tube. THE ONE TUBE I HAD ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!! Oh, and they charged her $20 for one tube (but 6 tubes cost $60?)So I called and they were VERY rude to me and claimed they called to let me know I could pick up the meds (lies.)I went back for full 6 tubes.. and have paid $70 now. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

My family has been using Kingston Vetranary Clinic for nigh on 50 years now. Yes they are never on time for an appt but Dr. Ross is one of the most caring Vets I have ever had the good fortune to meet. Only this weekend i had to take my loving Lab who was limping so bad she could hardly move to this clinic and was turned away. I explained how we had been coming there for the last 50 years and still the front end staff did not care . She sat in front of the 2 woman working on the counter holding her paw up and showing her pain when she would move on it to them and still they could have cared less.. They said she had no appt so go to the after hours clinic.. Which charges 200.00 to walk through the door.. I would have preferred to use that money to get an exray. The front end girls never even cared enough to come around and look at her. When i entered they made me wait while they had a provate conversation and then told me how busy they were. There was one person in there with me

I have always found Dr. Ross to be very caring and informed but my last incident changed all that. My dog had fainted a few times and I suspected heart disease - at an advanced stage as I did some research on this. Dr. Ross took blood and was 100% sure she had a heart problem. Said he would call me later than night with the results of the blood test. Called me later and said we needed to do an ECG and an x-ray to check for fluid on the lungs. We already knew she had fluid because of her coughing. I asked if the outcome after doing these tests would be any different and he said he needed to do them so he would know what medication to put her on as we had caught it in an "early stage". (?) Well $450 later I was told there was no medication he could give her and she would die of heart failure. I would go and see Dr. Buchanan but not Dr. Ross.

I have had my dogs groomed at Pet Grooming by Carole since she started there 19 years ago. Pets and show dogs and I rate her services 100%.She is the best at what she does and highly trained. It is dificult to use this rating system since, her salon is not owned by the vet clinic. She just rents space there and the staff are clinic staff.(except for Deanna)carole is a dog trainer, Behaviour consultant,is a member of many associations and attends many symposiums and conferences every year for cont. education. The facilities are old but CLEAN.(upgrading would be good) The staff could use some good training but for the most part, are good. Puntuality does need some work. (hope they are working on that) All in all a good place

I bring my dog and three cats regularly to the clinic. I've been to many others but the staff here are wonderful, knowledgeable, and the price is always right. My dog just recently had stomach issues so I brought him in...the poor guy just wasn't eating. He was given a full exam...you could tell that the staff really cared (even over a little tummy ache). They figured out his problem and gave him some medication to make his tummy feel better. After all that, I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was for a full exam, fecal, etc. Thank-you Dr. Ross and staff!
