Review for Dr. Galloway
We only had our cat Buddy in our lives for 5 years after he moved in off the streets, during this time Dr. Galloway was kind and compassionate with him and his humans throughout his veterinary care needs. Dr. Galloway was open, honest, approachable. She was approachable and was willing to provide her expertise as needed.
We were able to prearrange house calls with Dr. Galloway which helped to mitigate Buddy’s stress levels significantly. We are so thankful to Dr. Galloway for this option as he was so much more comfortable at home
Dr. Galloway provided compassionate care to our sweet Buddy, all the way to his last moments on earth —thoroughly and sensitively explaining what to expect which set our minds and hearts at ease. Dr. Galloway was supportive all the way to the end and for this, we are eternally grateful. Thank you, Dr. Galloway (and team), for all you have done for our family. Buddy is smiling upon you from the other side of the Rainbow Bri

I brought my cat to Dr. Millar because he was breathing abnormally and asked if it could be heart related because I know laboured breathing or panting can be a symptom of heart disease, and some Maine coon cats have heart problems. She scoffed at me and said he’s probably just hot. She then listened to his lungs and heart and said they sounded good. Three weeks later he suddenly loses movement in his back legs! I’m terrified so I rush him to her and first thing she does is weigh him so she can charge me for a check up visit. She again says he’s fine and it’s probably a blot clot. My husband and I then realized Dr. Millar is a complete idiot. We rushed him to the animal hospital where the doctor told us he was in complete heart failure and his lungs were filling with blood. He died within 15 minutes of arriving at the hospital. Dr. Millar is a completely incompetant horror of a human being, and I wouldn’t trust her with a pet rock.

My dog had knee surgery and I shopped around for along time and spoke to many vets. Dr. Galloway was very straight forward and very caring for my dog. called me numerous times before the surgery to make sure I understood what I was getting into because it was a lot of money to spend not knowing for sure how it would turn out. It has now been 10 weeks since surgery and everything is going well. I would recommend this Vet to everyone. Also when his daughter takes over the vet when dr. Galloway retires. She will be as good if not better.

the staff is rude and not friendly. the doctors misdiagnosed my cat with bladder stones when in fact they pulled up the wrong xray records for another patient. They clearly are unorganized.

I have owned pets that are (were) patients of Dr. Galloway's for as long as I can remember, which is probably as long as he's been a vet. I have always found him to be straightforward, compassionate and budget conscious if he's made aware of any money concerns. My cat had a rare tumor on his jaw. Dr. Galloway told me all the risks (drastic jaw removal, nerve damage, salivary gland damage, etc. but I wouldn't know until he was opened up) and rewards of surgery and kept the diagnostics within a reasonable budget. (We xrayed the cat rather than have a CAT Scan done, he skipped the blood work because he felt that the $$ would be better spent on the surgery.) He removed the tumor, which luckily ended up being the much less drastic surgery and my cat is well on the road to recovery. I don't trust any other vet as much as I trust Dr. Galloway. He doesn't promise rainbows and sunshine, but when the news is bad, he tempers it with compassion and hope and doesn't rob you blind in the meantime.

I spent a few years looking for a good vet and finally came across Dr. Galloway and Dr. Millar. They have been wonderful to my two dogs Coco and Sammy, and I can't say enough good things about them or the clinic. The staff are always very friendly and smiling. And there has now been FOUR occasions where the doctor there diagnosed Coco with a rare disease that a specialist my previous vet sent me to couldn't figure out. Sammy also had to have TPLO surgery on her knee which was really hard on her but she has 100% recovered and is doing way better than I ever thought possible. Dr. G also didn't charge me for his ear cleaning which was really nice of him... The only one thing to note is that there is sometime a bit of a wait (15 mins maybe). but I'd much rather take my dog to a vet that is as busy as Dr. G than someone who never has anyone waiting... overall I'd definitely recommend. I've seen so many vets throughout my life but I can honestly say Dr. G and Dr. M are the best out there.

My dogs seen by both Dr. Galloway & Dr. Miller a few times w/ my dogs. They were recommended to me after struggling to find trustworthy vet that doesn't gouge on my wallet. However, things have changed recently. Dr. Galloway had recently misdiagnosed my dog's symptoms that he insisted that he was correct. While knowing my dog better and getting a second opinion, I confirmed after an year my dog is still fine and his diagnosis is wrong. Dr. Miller also can be stuck up with her diagnosis "the I'm right attitude" when you reject her diagnosis. She has a CLOSED mind. The receptionists are rude and just care for the money. I called to ask if they had a medication in stock, the only words they repeated was "You need to come in for an appointment, you need to come in for an appointment" like a re-cording. Lack of customer service skills. I have since found other higher rating vets and make the drive to Surrey & Langley for the sake of my fur-babies that cost less as well!! Worth the drive!!

Dr.Galloway is an uber-kind, patient and highly skilled vet. Sophie, my 10 month old puppy needed knee surgery on both knees, and was under the care of Dr.Galloway. Her stitches will come off next week. I found Dr. Galloway to be highly skilled, super kind, super compassionate. He informed me on what to expect before & after the surgery, without rushing and answered all my questions and his reassurance was very calming. Sophie is healing nicely, has recovered quickly. Dr. Galloway's staff reflects his kindness & patience. The clinic is very clean and without the smell that is so prevalent in other vet offices. Dr Galloway came highly recommended by another vet at the Vancouver SPCA. He took charge and his compassion for my pet was very clear in his gentle manner and his patient explanation of the whole procedure. The best vet in all of Vancouver and anywhere else, bar none!

I have had many pets over the years and they have all been treated by Dr. Galloway (and on occasion, Dr. Miller). They have always been professional and courteous. I have lost a couple pets in the past 2 years and each time, both the doctors and staff have been very kind and supportive.

I have been bringing my dogs here for years and had been nothing but satisfied but recently things have changed. Their prices have increased and all the staff have recently changed. The new staff are young, inexperienced and unprfessional. (being on their cell phones in front of me) I asked if i could buy interceptor after my appointment and she didnt even know what it was.

So far I took 2 dogs to this clinic, one time seeing Dr. Galloway the other time seeing Dr. Millar. So far I like both of them as I call them no BS vets that get straight to the problem without taking you around the garden to gouge on you. The exam fees are a little $ but then consider so far they don't BS you, like other vets I visited that charge a little less on the exam fee but gouge on options stuff after, this is a great place vet clinic. The place has been open for over 25 years so don't expect 4th ave style when you enter, its basic and clean. Hopefully their no BS and correct diagnosis attitude lasts and I can keep this vet and stop vet jumping away from bad vets!

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Galloway for probably 30 years. He is a wonderful empathetic vet and takes as much time as necessary to talk over a problem. I would suggest that he is one of the best one could find! The front staff are also very caring and helpful, the facilities are a little tired cosmetically but clean; punctuality cannot be anticipated because vets cannot estimate the needs of their patients and owners. We all wish vet costs were lower but some people spend more on their coffees than their pets. We just need to budget for them.

I have been using this clinic for the past 20 years and have always been happy with the service here. I currently have 2 Shar pei and one of them gets very anxious and growly and can be a bit of a handful at the clinic. Dr. Miller is great with both of them and always takes the extra time to put them at ease, and is good at explaining everthing to me. Prior to these dogs I mostly saw Dr. Galloway and cant say enough good things about him. Both vets have been good about following up with me on issues, really seem to care, and their fees are reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend this clinic.

We've been taking our pets to this Veterinarian for many years. We are very pleased with the professionalism of both Drs. Galloway & Millar, however we have dealt with Dr. Miller far more often. Dr. Millar has given us great service. She's professional, prompt, thorough and explains things clearly. We'll continue taking our pets here as long as we have pets.

Dr. Miller has absolutely no bedside manner at all and should not be in this profession. She could not be any less friendly if she tried to be honest. I've never had words with Dr. Miller before yet she treated me with disdain, made me feel like I was back in high school again. This sounds insane but perhaps she treated me this way ( as a high school girl would) as I was skinnier and prettier than her- I know sound insane and at 44 would not think this but she was horrible to me for no reason Dr. Galloway however is great. I am not sure why he continues to use her as I 've heard from others that they find her cold as well and close to rude if not down right rude!

I just got my French Bulldog, Meeka spayed today. She is resting peacefully next to me. Meeka is a downtown Vancouver dog. We chose to get her spayed at Steveston Veterinary Hospital because a friend who got her Golden Retriever puppy neutered here referred Dr. Galloway to us.
The price was a lot more reasonable than the other vets in Vancouver and I was sold on getting her spay done by him because he owns 2 brachycephalic dogs (an English Bulldog and a Boston Terrier).
We've never been to Steveston Veterinary Hospital before. Meeka was returned to me with loving care. Dr. Galloway was so affectionate towards Meeka during the examination and he carefully placed her back in my arms when we picked her up.
I highly recommend getting your dog spayed or neutered by him! Oh and the staff were all super kind as well!

My cat had to have P.U. surgery, and I was told by my vet that Dr. Galloway was THE MAN. And she wasn't wrong. After seeing my cat and confirming that he was a reasonably good candidate for the surgery, he explained everything very easily and I had no problem leaving my cat in his capable hands. He did an excellent job and everyone at my vet was impressed. Thanks to him, my cat will live a good life. I'd definitely take him back there if he ever needs more surgery. Hopefully he won't hehe.

I've seen both Dr. Galloway and Dr. Millar and I love this place.they are so kind and gentle to my kitties. I like that they explain everything thoroughly so there is no confusion and are very proactive. The rest of the staff at steveston are also really nice and I have no concerns that my cats are in good hands. Try and see Dr. Galloway if you can.....Dr. Millar is really good too but Dr. Galloway is awesome at diagnosing problems...I had my cat at 3 vets and no one knew what was going on...it took Dr. Galloway less than 10 minutes to diagnose the problem and give me medication that fixed everything completely!! I've seen Dr. Millar a few times and she's very knowledgable and gentle too - just saw Dr. Galloway because my friend told me about him and she said he was the best vet in the lower mainland.
I would definitely recommend this vet to anyone who wants the best vet care for their pets. they are so passionate about animals and you can tell they love their jobs!

Dr. Galloway and the rest of the staff here are so compassionate and friendly. I really cannot express it enough. I unfortunately had to put down my cat due to cancer but they were so helpful and understanding throughout the whole process and they explained everything - like what to expect at every step. If it wasn't for them, I think this time would have been much harder. I haven't gotten another pet yet but I will get one soon...and when I do, I will definitely be bringing him to see the wonderful staff at Steveston. I recommend both Dr. Galloway and Millar to all my friends with animals because they are very honest and will never try to sell me unnecessary services just to make money. They truly are passionate about their work.

I started taking my Dog here when I first moved to Richmond because it was close to my house. I had a few procedures done and when I had they Quoted me a price range for them I found that the bill was ALWAYS at the very top of the quote plus other charges that I wasn't expecting. Why even give a price range if your just going to gouge at the till.

I took my cat here to get a Titer Rabies check so that I can take her with me to another country. I was quoted $200 over the phone so I took her in. AFTER they did the blood test they told me that the price has gone up and its now $390. Plus they charged me $60 for a examination. The bill came to $503. I looked at the web site where they send the test and it cost $80 https://www.vet.k-state.edu/depts/dmp... When I got home I phoned around and next most expensive vet charges $255 everything included, everyone else is cheaper.

We have taken our family dogs to Dr Galloway since I was a kid. He is an excellent vet and his team is too. Excellent prices, good advice. More recently my dogs have been seeing Dr Millar, she euthanized our labradoodle after a short battle with bone cancer. She was compassionate and offered her opinions when asked. We recently moved to White Rock and cannot find a vet with prices as good as Steveston Vet. I can't say enough about them.

I brought my french bulldog puppy in for Dr.Galloway for his initial puppy examination and he was terrific! He was affectionate and very informative. If you have a bulldog I would highly recommend this vet as he is very informed of this breed and I've been taking my dog there ever since for all of his shots and check ups..Dr. Galloway will not perform unnecessary procedures for your pet and remember the condition of your pet the last time you were in. He was initially concerned about my puppy's "bloated" tummy and thought it could be something serious, but recommended that we have him take some deworming medication and wait a couple of weeks for further examination. After all that, turns out my puppy just had A LOT of worms and was healthy and fine which he was VERY happy with. He remembered the condition of my puppy the last time he saw him and was very happy with the progress. No surgery required which saved us a lot of money.

Dr. Galloway and his staff at Steveston Veterinary Hospital gave our dog Minnie exceptional care for her ligament surgery (TPLO). Dr. G has terrific bedside manner. In the initial consultation, he was able to provide a very clear description of the problem and the available treatments while making both Minnie and myself relaxed and confident. The staff showed great gentleness and concern for Minnie's comfort and peace of mind. There's a long healing process ahead, but we're more that satisfied that we made the right choice, and that she'll be much better off as a result of this surgery.

He did my dogs surgery on his acl..My dog recovered fully and at the exact speed that Dr. Galloway said..He is so caring, informative and very friendly..He is a gentle man and i would never want to go anywhere else. He is not interested in the money, and is always looking for ways to save you money, and does not push you in any way. We love Dr. Galloway

I am impressed. I was Vet-less for a while due to a flood at my previous Vet's until my pup ran into troubles and needed a little "Op". Finally I can say I have a Vet because what I saw today was terrific. Everyone in this Clinic cares about my dog BUT at the end of the day and after her procedure I knew she was well taken care of, she was well medicated for her post-op pain and the caring that Dr. Miller and staff gave my dog was first class. They were great.

My dog requires surgery, and Dr. Galloway was the only one who could tell me exactly what he needed. His consultation was very informative. more so than all 5 other vets combined. His consultation fee was so reasonable I could not believe it, and more importantly, he took the time to explain to us so much more than we had ever been told. He knew exactly what my dog needs. I was so concerned and he knew that. He spoke to us that night from his home and answered any questions we had. His surgery will be done next week. This man is a rare individual in the animal field. he cares without caring about the money
