Dr. Cichon is the veterinarian of my dreams. It took us a while to find him. We've been making the trek from Richmond to North Vancouver--sometimes in heavy traffic--for a number of years now and it's always well worth the effort. Dr. Cichon is exceedingly caring, putting his focus first on the well-being of the animals in his care. He is one of very few veterinarians providing holistic care, with an extremely open attitude toward alternative therapies and supplements and less-invasive surgical techniques, while remaining up-to-date in standard medicine. Our eight-year-old pug has suffered from numerous health struggles. Dr. Cichon has provided tremendous help for his allergies and chronic ear infections. He has managed to stabilize kidney, liver, GI, and breathing issues using early intervention with supplements and regular testing. He provides consistent followup, and is open to the views and perspectives of his patients' humans. Dr. Cichon and his staff are Number One in my books!

Dr. Cichon has looked after my Malti-Poo, Sophie, for the past 7 years, and in my opinion has kept her alive and healthy. We had to decide to let her go last week at the age of 18 years and 3 months. Dr. C and his staff are always kind, caring and compassionate. I would never go anywhere else after experiencing this office. He believes in using diet and non medical means whenever possible to treat the animals and that certainly served my Sophie well. I would highly recommend The Lonsdale Veterinary Clinic.

I’ve been to 3 Veterinary Clinics in 15 years. Dr. Cichont has looked after my dog & puppy for 5+years. He’s kind & supportive —clearly loves animals. My dog had ongoing health issues that Dr. C. diagnosed accurately & treated diseases that became complex. Paulina & Sarah, the receptionist/Vet techs have always been welcoming, warm, knowledgeable, and loving with all animals in the clinic. Both Paulina & Sarah were a great comfort when Barney became terminally ill & Dr. Cichon helped me through the trauma of losing him at the end. When I rescued a new puppy, Dr. Cichon, Paulina and Sarah welcomed him effusively and thoroughly checked him over. Unfortunately, a temporary replacement sat in for Sarah, who’s on leave, and anyone who came into the clinic & dealt with the temp would have been upset by her curt, brusque attitude, not helpful at all— thankfully she doesn’t work here anymore— so I highly recommend this Vet Clinic & Hospital. You and your pets will get expert care!

My 12 year old Maltipoo was having a lot of trouble with pain, which my vet could not diagnose. I was referred to Dr. Cichon and within 10 minutes he told me he thought she had pancreatitis, which tests confirmed. With NO medication, simply a change in diet, Aloe Vera, Vitamins and Digestive Enzymes it completely cleared up. She has been fine ever since. I have rarely been so impressed with a vet and I trust him completely to look after my senior girl. PS He has great people working with him, too. Thank you all.

Great Clinic since it is close by but the vet there isn't very kind with cats and ignored a growing problem in my cat's ear that resulted in eventual surgery from another vet's request. Instead of looking into other options he just gave drops and ripped me off with 150 vet charge even for a check up.

I had my Old Dog coming here for the last 3 years. The Service was good, but expensive. I had him coming in for Accupuntre, cartophin shots, etc. The last 2 times I brought him back were just brutal. My dog had a cold, he was only prescribed medication for 3 days, I had to go see him after my wife brought my dog in, because Dr. Chicon wanted to consult with me about doing a full blood panel(which I refused the same as my wife because my dog is 17). Each visit I was charged, I didn't go back for the 3rd follow up. Just a few days ago my dog had a tumour on his mouth. In was told by the Assistant Candice let my dog fast, and, the Doc would do a quick procedure to remove it. I walk out of there 460$ later and my dog still had the Tumor. He charged me 27.80$ to draw blood. He also charged me for a Full Blood Panel and Thyroid Test. And, he insisted I do the full dental cleaning as well as the surgery. I went to another vet, tumour removed immediately for 470$. I would never go back there.

My 11 year old dog has been suffering for over a year, in a lot of pain. My previous vet clinic could not tell me what is wrong. Dr. Chichon knew immediately and confirmed with blood tests that she had a very severe case of pancreatitis. With DIET alone she has improved tremendously! I appreciate that he did not prescribe medication for her. I really like going to this clinic because it feels as if they really care for my dog and for me. I have recommended Dr. Chichon and his clinic to everyone I know.

Dr. Chicon
I would like to make known to all that Dr. Chicon completely cured our Leila, a 4 year old female German Sheppard x Sharpei mix, from a very serious left front leg tendon over-Extension.
After seeing a Vet & a Surgeon who prescribed an operation to cut the tendon and lock the joint in place, (which would never give our dog the possibility to recover to normal life and be very expensive), we decided to try the Holistic Approach. I believed that Leila was still young enough to recover to a normal life. After five months she is COMPLETELY HEALED, with no signs of ever having had an injury. I would like to thank Dr. Chicon for his gentle touch, patient and professionalism. Thank you Dr. Chicon, for giving us an alternative for a difficult, terminal surgery.
If you do have a pet with such an injury, give the Holistic approach a try, could save yourself thousands of dollars and your pet could go back being the happy one it was before.
Carolina, Felix and of course

I've been going to Lonsdale Pet Hospital for several years now and thought it was time to write a review since I've had nothing but a positive experience each time I visit. Although my two Bengal cats are only 5 years old, the girl has already had a terrible urinary infection and the boy has had two very serious instances of pancreatitis. Dr. Chichon has helped my two little kitties through each of these traumatic experiences. He is very careful and intuitive and recommends only necessary tests and treatments to be done in order to very quickly diagnose the problem. The second time my cat got pancreatitis Dr.Chichon noticed from the blood tests that my cat was showing signs of diabetes. He was able to treat this immediately the next day with insulin shots and my cat was almost immediately showing signs of recovery. Although it was expensive in the short term to monitor my cats glucose levels everyday for a week, it more than paid off since Dr. Chichon's treatments cured the diabetes!

I have used Dr. Cichon for the past four years. He offers a holistic approach as well as conventional veterinary treatment, which I appreciate. He is always very gentle with my dogs, and they love visiting with him and his staff. He has helped me make the difficult end of life decision with three of my dogs, with total compassion. I think he is meticulous when he is doing a surgery, so that the animal has the least suffering from pain possible. I now have two young dogs who adore going there. I feel that they are very well looked after. His services are very reasonable and I always get to see him the same day if I am in the least bit concerned. His clinic is well equipped, my appointment is on time, and he has never pushed for unnecessary procedures.

We have taken our Terriers to Dr. Cichon for many years. He has saved the lives of several of them and has helped all of them live quality lives. We like his holistic approach and believe that we get excellent service and assistance from Dr. Cichon himself and from his staff. His fees are fair and the drugs and supplements he supplies or recommends are effective nor are they overpriced. Our dogs love him and his staff because everyone is so gentle and kind to them. Our dogs are extremely healthy as a result of the care provided by this clinic's excellent staff. The facilities are clean and appear to provide all the spaces necessary for full service. Appts are on time. Emergencies are treated with dispatch. Dr. Cichon and his staff are conscientious, consistently helpful and are a delight to work with as we strive to have our pets live long quality lives. I would never take my dogs elsewhere. We appreciate that Dr. Cichon gives back to the community through his volunteer works as well.

Ran expensive tests, forced expensive supplements and remedies on me after making me feel like a bad dog owner, vet clearly had his own agenda and did not listen to me - not available in our final emergency, thank GOD, and we went to another clinic. 5 days later and not a word to acknowledge that my dog has died. Collected my files today and the receptionist had the nerve to argue with me. Such a horrible experience.

Both Dr. Cichon and the staff are great at this hospital. I like that both conventional and holistic approaches are discussed and gives you all the information you need to make a decision. After going through a very difficult time with my dog I couldn't say enough about the kindness, support and treatment that she received. When the time came that we couldn't do anything else Dr Cichon handled the final arrangements in an amazing manner. I would highly recommend Lonsdale Pet Hospital.

It's nice to have the holistic remedies available, but I have to wonder if the prescriptions are coming from anything more than an informed guess. Expensive! Yes! And Dr. Cichon never misses an oppportunity to try to upsell a vitamin or supplement of some kind. The positives are that the staff are kind and concerned, and Dr. Cichon is very gentle with my animals.

Dr. Cichon is one of the best vets. He always explains to me what he is going to do and I like the fact that he supports natural remedies. My dog has had a number of procedures done by Dr. Cichon and has always recovered fully and without complications.

Negatives: While the vet's themselves are friendly, the office staff more often than not is rude or unapproachable. In case of emergency they are not dependable and will refer you to everyone else if it means that they would have to stay even slightly late. They can be very expensive if you are not specific about what treatment(s) you want your dog or cat to receive. Positives: encourage a mixture of traditional and holistic medicine, and don't shove vet food or products down your throat. The vets have both been great with my animals and my pets as a result are not stressed out by their visits. The clinic is also in a good central location for North Shore residents right off Lonsdale Ave.

This hospital is horrible! I took my seven month old chihuahua to get his ears checked and the vet there was suppose to do a swab sample to check if he had any mites. My dog didnt like the vet and was scared and he growled a bit at him...then the vet grabbed him by his neck and tryed to controll him by holding him down. while this was happening the vet never told me what he was doing, so at first i didnt say anything, but as it continued he then lifted my dog up and his fingers got under the collar and before i new it he was choking! so i got scared and grabbed him out of his hands and said " you are choking him". he denied it and told me he knew what he was doing and that he has done this before. I ran out there so fast..but before i did i gave him a piece of my mind! i hope that anyone who is reading this thinks twice about this hospital...my dog is only five pounds and he didnt deserve that. i will never go there again, that vet was so cold!

After a terrible experience at Atlas on Marine I feel SO fortunate to have discovered Lonsdale Veterinary Hospital! My little dogs have seen them multiple times and I always leave feeling reassured - and the bill is always less than anticipated which is a huge bonus. They always remember myself and my animals by name and have even helped when I've found injured wild animals - AT NO COST. To the person who was upset at paying $30 for an exam - most other vets I've seen charge anywhere from $60 - $100 just for walking in the door!!! LVH will also give you holistic recommendations as well. Instead of pumping my little chihuahua full of drugs they suggested diet changes that, in my opinion, saved my dogs life. THANK YOU LONSDALE VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!

My small dog was hit by a car on the street in front of the vet. I grabbed him and ran to the vet office. It was five minutes after they closed and I knocked on the door, holding my dog and crying. The receptionist wouldn't open the door until a friend of mine (who works there) came from around the corner to see what was happening and opened the door. The vet was pretty nice. But all she did was check my dog's vital signs and told me to monitor him over night. She also gave him a shot of pain killer. In total, it took 5 mintues and cost me $200. As I was paying, still in tears, the receptionist kept mentioning that they were actually closed and to remember their hours next time...yeah, next time my dog gets hit by a car, I'll remember their hours!
