I am very disappointed with the way Shawn Hook handled our cat. We went in because she was losing weight at an alarming rate. They took blood and saw that the liver em-zines were high. He told us it indicated that the cat had cancer and only had 1 to 4 months to live (no talk about infection or anything it just was cancer) so he put her on steroids to help the symptoms 6 months later the cat is still alive and Shawn Hook wont take our calls so we decided to get a second opinion that vet took blood work and told us he thought it was an infection so gave us antibiotics to see if it helped 6 weeks later we went back to have her blood tested and all of her blood work came back normal. We are pretty annoyed that Shawn Hook jumped to the worse case possible and never even tried to give her a dose of antibiotics. On top of that they told us they had to charge us $15 to get a copy of her records but would fax for free but the faxing took them a month to follow through with. We wont be back!

We have been going have been going to Arbor Ridge for 20+ years but once Shawn Hook Bought the business everything has gone down hill. Shawn Hook is a terrible vet. He talks to us like we are stupid. He over charges. The last visit we had he made us wait 2 hours after our appointment before he saw our cat. Then he took blood made us wait another hour and a half before we found out what was wrong with our cat. All the time they didn't tell us why we were waiting or say anything to us just left us in a room for 3 hrs. I wouldn't recommend this vet clinic to anyone who wants to be treated well.

While Dr. Hook is a very good Vet, the clinic operations leave alot to be desired. They prioritized a "walk-in" emergency over a loyal customer. They cancelled a office visit for a cat receiving therapy for cancer and arthritis for a "walk-in" never seen before emergency customer. This was fine as an emergency is an emergency. But they offered NO prioritization for rescheduling and no one apologized for making me wait over an hour in a freezing office until they told me what was going on. I literally was sitting in my coat, hat and gloves and was still freezing. The prices they charge for blood tests are VERY high. Then on another occassion, they would not take my emergency, they made me drive 25+ minutes to the Beltline Emergency Clinic. How is that for treating long-term repeat customers.

Great veterinary care. Dr. Hook and his staff are so friendly and welcoming. They seem very knowledgible and also have a warm and compassionate maner about them. They seem to have many tools at their dispossal making same day workups very easy, which helps save me multiple trips in. Thanks for the great care.

Staff are very knowledgeable and compassionate to your pet. I think Dr. Hook does a great job keeping up with the current literature. Two of the examination rooms have windows, which makes my cat feel much more comfortable. They have always been ready for us when we show up for an appointment, and I think are relatively cheap compared to other vets in the Madison area.

Many, many thanks to the doctors and staff at Arbor Ridge! I know my pets really are getting the best care available at all times. My dogs love going there and they've been great with my assorted reptiles and my Eclectus parrot. I love that they will explain anything going on with my pets to me and make sure I understand it, as well as understand what we need to do. If I call with a question, I know I will get the answer and if I call with a problem, I know the staff with get me set up with an appointment to be seen instead of writing me off and making me wait a week. I cannot say enough good things about the clinic! Many thanks again to all at Arbor Ridge for all you do!!

I can't say enough about Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic and everyone there. Dr. Shawn Hook is the most careing person I know. He takes time to answer all your questions and is so wonderful with our cats. The new clinic is so nice. Thank you.

We came to Arbor Ridge on a referral from our daughter. Our dog had been very sick for two weeks. Our old vet couldn't find anything wrong but the dog wasn't getting better. Dr. Hook did an exam and found a lump in the dog's neck immediately. We switched over for the friendly and caring staff. Dr. Hook always spends quality time when we bring our dog in not just a quick in and out. We would highly recommned Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic and Dr. Hook.

I've been going to this pet clinic for 15 years now, and am completely satisfied and happy with the service, staff, facilities, and atmosphere. The staff is wonderful, patient, and very caring. Dr. Hook is very gentle and sweet with the animals, and has never failed me or my 2 dogs and cat. Wonderful place!
