My puppy (8-9 months old) needed surgery for hip dysplasia on both sides. After the left side was operated on, my puppy was unable to move her entire left leg, as if there was no feeling there. I was first told it was the "anesthesia that hadn't wore off yet," and that it was completely normal (though it didn't happen on the right side). After bringing the puppy back for an additional 3 days of being hospitalized it was finally admitted to me that there was nerve damage done but that it was temporary. 5 months later (with 2 rehab sessions per wk) and the damage is the exact same. Dr. Horstman has not come talked to me (when asked by the staff) and has not returned my phone calls and now I've been told her hip still slides out of the socket (the whole point of the surgery.) Please choose your vets/surgeons wisely.
