I don't understand how anyone can say they over charge or unfriendly. I have only great reviews about them. Even my dog likes going to see them all. Dr Brar is a compassionate vet. He looked after my sick dog with such caring. He charges no more than anywhere else. Do some research people and you will see just how fair he really is. I can't thank them all enough for all the love and caring they actually show. I am extremely happy they are my pets Dr's.

Shortly after we first moved to North Vancouver our dog had a major emergency. Delbrook was nearby and open, so we brought her in... they diagnosed the problem quickly, were very caring, and referred us immediately to the emergency clinic in Vancouver where they could do surgery. The young Doctor on call at that time was very kind, and when we went back to take out stitches all was well. However, the older Doctor who we have seen on other occasions appears to be there simply for the money -- he continually "upsells" diagnostics and routines which are clearly not needed, attempting to scare you into them. That Doctor's concern is most certainly not genuine -- you get the feeling that you're trapped in his spider's web and he's trying to figure out the best way to extract as much from you as possible. After the third time this happened we decided it wasn't just a "bad day", it's the way he operates -- and now we're off to find another vet.

Don't go to this here. My dog was sick and could not get up and was urinating involuntarily. The vet said she was dehydrated she did x-rays bloodwork and an IV drip over a couple days. To figure this all out in less tha minute or two. He then was concerned whether I could afford 750-1000 fees. I told him I didn't know did not feel comfortable with this. Long story short I took her to Blue Ridge on Monday. After examining her for 30 minutes they asked to follow up with x-rays and bloodwork. Long story short my dog had been poisoned. They charge me $400. My dog was better within two days. Don't go Delbrook they are a rip off!!!!

During last long weekend in May my dog ingested big chicken bone.My young son gave that bone by mistake. We waited for few hours. After about 8 hours my dog started showing signs of obstruction which was diarrhea with blood and gagging to vomit out something.I checked on line for open veterinarians and found out that only Delbrook Animal Hospital was open on that evening.I took my dog to Delbrook animal Hospital.Dr Brar immediately did X rays and started dog on IV fluids.X rays showed clear bone in stomach.Under General anasthesia bone was removed by endoscopy. My whole family was very happy that my dog got saved by timely help and treatment at Delbrook Animal Hospital.

I had one great and wonderfull experience during last Chritsmas holidays, dealing with Dr Brar of Delbrook animal hospital.I was away on holidays in USA.My dog Marley was boarding at a local Kennel in North Vancouver. My daughter who was in North Vavcouver called me that kennel office had called her about Marley having asthma attack again. My regular vet was closed for long weekend and I did not want to transport dog from kennel.I contacted Dr Brar,He personally went to kennel to examine Marley.Dr Brar treated Marley with Injections and paid to visits to Kennel.Me and my daughter were really impressed by Dr Brar's proffesionalism. We would highly recommend Dr Brar to our Friends.

We recently switched to Delbrooke and find it a fantastic animal hospital. Dr Brar is great. They always called us to follow up and you can get themĀ on phone when needed. It's a nice small clinic with low waiting times, staff is friendly and reasonably priced for a Lower Mainland clinic.

I bought an online deal for 2 vaccines and A COMPLETE exam. I asked Dr. Brar to check her anal glands as I suspected a problem. He seemed annoyed that I asked and scared of my dog for no reason. Turns out the anal glands were infected and he perscribed antibiotics. I asked to check a fatty lump on her side, he said he would do the exam and vaccines at the next visit. My husband brought the dog in for the follow up and asked if it was necessary to check the anal glands to make sure the infection was gone, he said no. He asked him to check the fatty lump and Dr Brar said he had checked the lump last time and had already done the exam at that time. The vet never did an exam: he didn't ask questions, didn't check her teeth, eyes or ears, didn't listen to her heart, he didn't even weigh her to determine the right dosage of meds. Online deals are meant to turn you into return customers. This place is terrible! Turns out Dr Brar has had his lisence suspended in the past. Stay away from here!

My 18 year old cat had become very ill in mid December 2012. After 2 days of her not eating enough if at all I took her in to see Dr. Brar. He asked if I could leave her for 24 hours to run tests & observe her. He explained in detail the fees & procedures & asked me if I'd like to proceed. He was up front & honest about the condition of my baby. He told me after the results came back that she had liver & kidney failure plus high protein levels. This was the worst news but he reassured me & asked me if I'd like to consider my options. I brought her home with his advice to NOT give up & to see if maybe with time she could get better. Unfortunately on December 30th I had to euthanize her. The doctor was nothing but kind & gentle with both my cat & I. They gave me time with her in a room & yes they explained the options I had for cremation. It's was difficult to experience this since I had had her since I was 14 years old but the Doctors at Delbrook Animal Hospital were wonderful.

I've only been to this place once, and I am never going again. First of all, the place is really creepy and when I went there were two guys there who came out of a really small room and into a really small reception area. And then they just took my dog (after I spoke to them) into a small room and I couldn't even see what they were doing to my dog. And then they told me that I had to do a lot of other stuff for my dog in order to "fix" it (not even spay). I was just getting one of the shots needed for the year and they were telling me I had to do a whole bunch of stuff. And then when I got the bill it turns out they did a full testing and all that, when I never asked for it. SO DON'T GO HERE: IT'S SHADY AND THEY TRY TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF LITTLE THINGS.

Despite what others are saying, me and my husband could not be happier with the care and service of these vet's. Our dog Lulu had and abscess and we came in and were seen immediately and told the cost for sedation and to remove would be about $600. However because we had brought our cat in previously (a few days before and spent $700 on tests) they gav us a $100 discount and waived the consultation fee. We brought her in again about another suspicious lump and again he fee was waived. I'm sorry but what vet waives their fee to diagnose the animal? None that I know of, and I have been to many vets on the northshore with our cat and 2 dogs. They are caring, affordable, knowledgeable and compassionate. I have NO IDEA what the bad reviewers have experienced because every time I've been there I have been treated wonderfully. We highly recommend this vet :)

For the 2nd time, I was dissatisfied with the quality of attention given by the vet. My cat was on its deathbed and I brought it in to have a confirmation of this fact. He did not examine my cat and it was not until I returned home that I discovered a wound on its underside that may have been caused by a wild animal. Prior to my visit, I thought my cat may have been hit by a car. I listened to the advice of the vet which was fine, however, it wasn't until the next day when I took it to another vet that he confirmed that my 19 year old's kidneys were severely undersized and he probably could not recover from the injury as my son hoped. Had the vet at this clinic done any physical exam, he too would have been able to point this important fact out. He did not check his heart rate, take his temperature, and even do a physical examination which I was billed for. More care could have been taken even if just to put my mind to rest. The female assistant was helpful.

VET HAD LICENSED SUSPENDED-DON'T GO HERE! SEE BELOW:Decisions: BCVMA Inquiry Committee (October 6, 2006); BCVMA Council (March 27, 2007)
Findings: In relation to Canine A, Dr. Brar failed to use a level of care, skill and knowledge expected of a reasonably competent practitioner in the advice and management of treatment in that he recommended the amputation of the third phalanx of the affected digit which was unjustified and constituted excessive treatment; and, in relation to Canine B, Dr. Brar failed to use a level of care, skill and knowledge expected of a reasonably competent practitioner to understand the pathology and treatment of immune mediated thrombocytopenia (IMTP). Council found that Dr. Brar engaged in unprofessional conduct.
Disposition: Council issued Dr. Brar a formal reprimand and suspended him from practice for a period of one month. Council issued a restriction that Dr. Brar not treat and must refer any immune mediated disease cases until completing remedial trai

I am been totally disapointed with this place. From their treatment my cat went down hill to eventually find out she was receiving too much dose from the prescription. I sure regret trusting them as they showed little concern really for your pet but no shy to empty your pocket.

I have been going to Delbrook animal Hospital for last 4 years.I feel Dr Brar is great.I like his approach in diagnosing and treating my pet's problem. My dog Stella had ruptured cruciate ligament, other vets gave very high quotations. When I went to Dr Brar,I had read about all these controversial statements and on going war between different group of vets.I was totally satisfied with Dr Brar's professional and mature approach in explaining about surgical procedure for ACL.I decided to get the surgery done at Delbrook by Dr Brar.Surgery was successfully done by Dr Brar and Stella was back to her normal routine in two months.

PLEASE IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! I Brought my dog in to simply have his cathitar put back in as it fell out at home. (I was giving him IV fluids) They could not find a vein so decided to shave my dog`s leg right down to the skin and I mean almost to the bone!!! There was nothing to shave as my b=vet had done it the day before!! What in the world was he thinking. My dog was bleeding everywhere and still no vein was found. My husband was so upset he grabbed our dog and walked out before he skinned that money grabbing butcher to the bone. A young assisant vet was walking out offering us a large bandaid for our dog. Pathetic. Go ANYWHERE else other than here.

I took my 11-year dog to Delbrook Animal Hospital because he slipped and fell, he couldn't stand and all legs were weak. The vet told me there's no hope upon seeing him for 30 seconds, then he charged me 560 for some tests and told me to monitor him. Then I found a canine massage therapist and he treated my dog 3 times, the therapist said my dog has only suffer muscle strain. My dog could now walk a little bit and he could stand up to eat. He's on his way to recover. Not like the vet at Delbrook said he has to be put to sleep. What kind of vet is that, cares about nothing but taking money from people.

Do not go here...especially if you have pet insurance only because the doctor will charge you an exorbant amount of money. He only assessed my dog for a few minutes and decided that he would need to do testing. He did all the testing only to find nothing except that he will need rest. The doctor even said it would be a certain amount. I've asked around with friends and they've said they've never had to pay that much...so AVOID THIS PLACE...It's also not very hygenic either. Especially when you are in a vulnerable situation...DO NOT GO HERE....The doctor doesn't even give you one minute to decide and then he suggests to do all the testing in the world when he doesn't even listen to what we think our dog did!

The staff here treats our pets like they are family, which they are to us. This vets office is not fancy, but they are great. We boarded our one cat with them for a week and she did fine. We have had 2 cats fixed. The prices are better than most vets. Try them, you will certainly like them. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I take my dog to Dr Brar for last 6 years. He lives very close to hospital.(I think on back side of hospital)His hospital hours are extended and rates are reasonable.Dr Brar is a wonderful perosn, as well as a veterinarian. Unlike many veterinarians, truly cares about the wellness and health of your pet. Dr.Brar is very explicit in regards to possible treatment options, is very empathetic, takes the time to explain what the problem is and gives honest and well educated opinions on what plan of action he thinks is best for you and your pet. The clinic is very clean, up to date and has a warm environment for animals. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The clinic also provides many services to help low income and needy pet owners. Your pet is in good hands with Dr.Brar!

While the appeal was pending, Dr. Brar refrained from treating immune mediated diseases while he complied with the examination and training requirements. He is no longer under a practice restriction and is entitled to engage in a full range of practice. Dr. Brar voluntarily abandoned his appeal and accepted the period of suspension which will run from February 15, 2009, at 11:59 p.m., to March 15, 2009, 11:59 p.m. Copy and past link. http://www.bcvma.org/cfm/index.cfm...
