Click to report rating    12/10/17   5     5     5     5   I was referred to this animal hospital when my golden was diagnosed with cancer. The staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. Also, the vet was knowledgeable, and compassionate. It's never an easy time when your pets are sick, and Petroglyph staff eased the discomfort. I'm very pleased with their care. RID: 65185
Click to report rating    3/8/16   1     2     3     1   I have taken my cat here for several years. Everytime I take her, I get a different vet. Which is fine except each vet tells me something different that is "wrong" with my cat. First it was a kidney problem a year ago. I just took her in and they said she never had a kidney problem! A year and a half ago they said she needed a tooth removed. So I had that done thinking they knew what they were doing. Now I am questioning whether she even needed it. This last visit they said she had a heart murmur which they didn't say anything about last year, and they referred her to a cardiologist. I will no longer be taking my cat here. I'm getting another opinion. RID: 59970
Click to report rating    1/13/16   3     3     3     2   ive used this vet for years.. but i'm debating if i'll take my new pup there. putting my last dog down was a bad experience. the previous dogs, they'd come administer the lethal injection, and that was that.. 20 minutes tops. this last time, the intern wouldn't let me up the ramp first (so my dog fell down the stairs) then they gave him a sedative before the lethal injection that seemed to make him very uncomfortable. -not to mention made us sit there for atleast 1/2 hour before being put down.. unneeded trauma. i don't know if the vet was intimidated (he was a big dog, but very well behaved) or why the sedative. but i was very unimpressed with this route. that said; i might give them another shot, as the vets are knowledgeable, but i did not get a good feeling last time. Click to report rating    12/21/15   1     4     2     1   I have taken many animals to PAH over the years and was always happy in their treatment except for the last 2 medical instances with my dog. One time I spent over $1500 to find out my dog had allergies! The most recent visit I was worried about my dog's mouth, whether it was her teeth, her gums, or I thought maybe she had something caught in her teeth. I expressed this and how my dog was unable to yawn and was breathing strangely; the vet took her temp, briefly lifted up one side of her lip and said it was allergies. I asked her again if she was sure it wasn't my dog's teeth or gums because her inability to yawn; she said, "No" and told me to buy some Benadryl and left the exam room ($80)! One week later my dog couldn't open her mouth at all! Took her to another vet-they did x-rays, blood work, and a thorough exam and determined my dog had lock jaw. She's on steroids and the vet is hopeful that she will recover soon. She could not believe the vet at PAH said it was allergies! RID: 59324
Click to report rating    9/9/15   1     3     2     1   I have been here several times and have never been satisfied with their service. We took our Rottie there yesterday, he has what appears to be an abscess in his mouth. I was told by the nurse that the Dr. has a Rottie also but when she came in she behaved as though she didnt know what to do with our boy. You would think that in order to properly examine his mouth you might give him something to calm him down (as we have received at other vets). Instead she left the room and came back with a $1000 estimate concluding that its probably a tumor but they would have to sedate him to see. I...ME...I suggested that maybe its an infection. Couldnt we start with antibiotics? She wasnt too happy with that and said she would go fill his meds. She was even less happy when I said I had my meds filled at Wal Mart as PAH charges 3-4X more than the going rate. Scare tactics and overcharging is their game and its terrible. I hate that they do this to people who just want to help their animals RID: 58340
Click to report rating    3/14/15   1     3     2     1   I was a Vet Tech for 10 yrs (74 to 84) and I loved every minute of it. Granted, costs have risen, but I had no idea what the cost to me & my dog would be for, what used to be, a routine dental with extractions. This clinic is not in the business of caring for animals. This clinic is a business; do as many procedures as possible, dispense as many high cost medications as possible, it's all strictly a business that profits from peoples pets & emotions. I didn't see any "care" in We Care About Your Pet. They gave my dog a Rabies shot, but there were so many errors in my name and address it would be impossible to trace my dog back to me if she were to get away from me. After paying $1,175.00, I left Petroglyph AH stunned and saddened. They truly should be ashamed of themselves because they tell a lie every time they say they "care" about your pet. All they care about is your money and how much of it they can get. RID: 56273
Click to report rating    5/27/14   5     5     4     4   We had to go here for an emergency visit 3 weeks ago, the staff were caring, explained everything, and since it was 9pm at night I was expecting a huge bill. I got out decent(not great, it was a eye injury due to dog fight) I have had 2 follow ups I was only charged for one. RID: 51802
Click to report rating    9/15/13   1     4     1     1   Ambulatory to Petroglyph 09.15.13 as a result from a dog fight. Seven in the afternoon, we arrive with our bleeding pet. Whatever the costs for the 3 estimates, we're told that we can bring our dog home anytime before midnight. We agree to their estimate, arrive there to pick our dog up only to be told that THEY ARE GOING TO CALL THE POLICE" for attempting to retrieve our dog. "We don't open until 8 a.m." My wife just arrived home now at 2:44 a.m. after being threatened by Petroglyph to leave the premises WITHOUT our pet! The $1,200 I have no problem with, but THE FACT THAT PETROGLYPH HAS OUR MONEY AND HAS OUR PET HOSTAGE IS DUE TO OFFICE HOUR PROCEDURE THAT EVEN THEY DON'T FOLLOW! They were paid, they won't give me my dog back as they agreed. My dog is not under sedation or anything medically limiting... PETROGLYPH ANIMAL HOSPITAL just doesn't honor it's policies. My name is David Clark Billings, 87120-6265. I'm credible (look me up) and I just want my dog back home! Please. RID: 46958
Click to report rating    9/26/12   1     1     1     1   Our dog got his ear torn and we need emergency help. They prepped him then had us bring him back the next day. They sew the ear and handed him over with the wound open. When we returned a few days later, it had torn again. They blamed us for not having a bandage on his head. We told them they never put one on. They accused of lying. We argued a full day over this, and kept insisting they did nothing wrong and then talked about cutting off the ear! When one of the "owners" stepped him, he got insulted when I told him we'd make sure our friends never went there, and he refused to fix the problem. Had to take our dog to another vet to correct their mistake. Rude staff, uncaring, driving by money only. And the "owner" was upset that I complained and dared to accuse his staff of any wrongdoing. NEVER take your very loved pets here. They are the worst vets office I've hard had to deal with! RID: 37433

Click to report rating    11/6/11   2     5     3     1   At first I was impressed by Petroglyph and I used them even though they are really expensive. Over time I got feeling that they didn’t really care about my cat or me. It was like they figured they had so many patients that if I wasn’t happy with Ben’s care it didn’t matter because there were plenty more pet owners where I came from. Six months ago Ben was having weird symptoms that were starting to scare me. I took him in and the bill was over $1200 but the next day he hadn’t improved. When I called I was told that none of the vets were available and that I needed to come in for an emergency consultation. They couldn’t take 10 minutes to talk to me on the phone before I brought him in? I took him to the emergency room instead. Thank God I did! Petroglyph had misdiagnosed Ben and completely missed that he was a diabetic! How in the world does a vet mess that up? Ben is much better now and my advice is to keep looking – a fancy office isn’t worth the risk to your pet’s health. RID: 28885
Click to report rating    8/16/11   4     4     5     5   I have always taken my dogs here and they have always been taken care of. I had a dog that almost died. He had diabetes and actually went into ketosis. He was not expected to live. He lived, and I have Petroglyhs staff to thank for this. He is doing very well now and I cannot thank this staff enough for what they did for my dog. They have always treated me with the utmost kindess and respect. ..Thank you Petroglyph for being there for me and my dogs. Bayer, Mai Tai, Lucy and Laura RID: 26959

Click to report rating    10/13/09   4     4     4     4   Took my dog who was having a medical crisis and could not be seen by usual vet. She was bleeding continuously through the nose. Ten minutes lying on the floor was a huge puddle of blood. It took them a long time to see her, but I realize they probably had another emergency. She had either been poisoned or had a anti-immune response. When they did get to her they did everything. One of the vets brought his dog in for blood donation, they put her on IV's and oxygen. She was there for nearly a week. The room they had for her was very small with several sick animals. They let me visit every day and let her out of her pen so I could comfort her. My bill was nearly $2000, but imagine the bill if it was your kid in the hospital. Very knowledgeable and caring. Would recommend them for emergencies!! RID: 14665
Click to report rating    9/25/09   1     1     1     1   They traumatized my cat by holding her down while she was screaming. Three people were holding her down. They didnt let me hold her to comfort her. All of this for a stupid routine vaccination. This was her first vet experience...I will never recommend them!! RID: 14410
Click to report rating    4/29/09   1     4     3     1   $$$ Oriented! Have taken several pets here. Good for emergencies but don't really seem to care much about routine, less expensive, prevention and treatment. Have never received a follow-up call to see how my sick pets were after I have taken them home. You see different doctors every time, no continuity of care. I have had other vets that call me at home multiple times to follow up on my sick pets. Will not go back here except for emergencies and not even for that if I can find another option. RID: 12631
