Click to report rating    3/9/24   1     1     1     1   liar. cruel. pretends he is kind. does not tell you when your animal dies until you call. crowded animals together. caused my 2 cats to get FIP. I paid for an autopsy! dreadful place. 30 years later and I shall never forgive him. RID: 71016
Click to report rating    11/7/23   1     2     1     1   Dr Banon is an extremely harsh and impolite vet. He does not allow clients to ask questions as he takes it as us questioning his abilities, when in reality we just want a better understanding of what is happening. The waiting time is OUTRAGEOUS only to be with the doctor for 15 minutes. Not worth the money. Bad overall RID: 70897
Click to report rating    6/19/23   4     1     1     1   Avoid this vet! Doesn’t let you in when he interferes with your pet and overcharged RID: 70737
Click to report rating    10/11/22   3     3     1     1   Avoid this clinic and the owner for your beloved pets, I joined others disappointed clients and I have the same bad experience . RID: 70473
Click to report rating    8/14/21   1     1     1     1   Dr Banon is a sociopath, and I'm not using the term lightly. He only cares about making as much money as he possibly can and I've seen him do medical malpractice COUNTLESS times (with myself and other clients) over the years. Look at his staff. Notice how timid and rigid they are when they talk? It's because he's abusive. But, not only to the staff, he's abusive to the animals. The last time I was there he completely ignored my pet's physical condition (potential poisoning), ignored my questions on what to do, and jumped to his own, unfounded conclusion that my pet has a tumor and that I needed to pay him $270 more dollars for a blood test. I was there because my cat had ingested medicine and potentially was overdosing. I was also there because his technician said it was urgent and imperative that I come in (when I called them about the issue). This place is evil. Dr Banon is extremely evil. I promise you, he's a sociopath. I can go on, but I'm limited on this forum. AVOID RID: 70072
Click to report rating    8/24/20   1     2     2     2   My daughter's kitten nearly died this past weekend because of their negligence. She was misdiagnosed twice and sent home the first time with nothing and the following day with only eye drops when in fact she had a high fever, severe dehydration and Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis ( a very common cat ailment) My daughter had to rush her to the emergency Vet sunday morning (DMV Lachine)were she was kept in hospital and treated properly for her sickness. Vet Hosp MB did zero tests on this very sick kitten even with her profusely drooling for 2 days ( again a common symptom of Rhino) These people have no business treating animals, clearly they are either incompetent or just don't care, I am not sure which is scarier. I would not trust them with any of my beloved animals, and neither should you! RID: 69482

7/26/19   5     5     5     5   Dr Banon is an extremely skillful and caring vet. He has a real heart for animals. He has always been generous and conscientious, and my family has been consulting him for decades, for a series of adopted animals. If all vets were like Dr Banon, animals would have better lives. (You have to be alert when you speak to him, to make sure he has heard you correctly, because he has a hearing problem.) (I have read the negative reviews and I can only imagine that either the complainants were not paying attention or they simply resented spending any money at all on the little creatures in their care: Dr Banon certainly does not over-charge, quite the contrary. Sometimes a combination of overwork and his hearing problem may make him seem a little abrupt, but you can be 100% sure that he is giving his patient (the animal) his fullest attention and devoting his full medical skills to him or her.) Click to report rating    4/10/19   5     4     3     1   Listen, clearly the staff is competent and Dr Desjardins is competent as well. Dr Banon however is a whole different deal. I do not believe he is incompetent but he is so rude and doesn't listen (and its not because of earing aid, i have some myself and this isn't the reason). He is an as$hole. Maybe he cares about the pet but after years of going there and me and my dog being stressed out by him i will take my business elsewhere. He overcharges and doesn't seem to understand that on a tight budget you can still provide good care for your pet. Cleary what interests him more than that is money? Or maybe he hates people? Idk but i'm done having terrible times with him. If you have no money restriction probably you may not have problems there? Although he still might be quiet rude to you when you try to ask questions and understand what's going on. Don't let yourself be bullied by that dude. Not worth it guys! - Sam RID: 67893
5/10/18   5     4     4     4   I usually don’t write any ratings but I will this time because I had a really good experience with Dr Banon and this clinic. I found Dr Banon to be very professional and that it showed he was passionate about his work and how much he loves animals and wants the best for them. I also found he was very respectful with me and boyfriend. He gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision. It showed he took the time to really analyse the situation before giving us any info, he spoke to us about all the different alternatives and informed us on the prices to help us decide. My cat received good and attentionate care at the clinic. The Dr respected my decision when it came to euthanasia. I even received a card of condoleances after my cat passed away. I found Dr Banon to be very compassionate, towards animals, but also towards their owners. I would totally recommend this clinic if you want the best care for your animal. RID: 66110
Click to report rating    9/26/17   1     3     2     1   I brought in my pet who was very sick and spent a serious amount of money on treatment with Dr. Bannon. His rude attitude towards me, and even his own staff should have been an early warning flag, but I continued. It took me a while after seeing zero progress and more rude comments to consult a new vet that told me that the decisions that had been taken had only done more damage to my pet's already fragile state. Needless to say I won't be returning. Take your money, and your loved ones elsewhere. RID: 64742
Click to report rating    3/29/17   4     4     4     4   It's a shame to see the bad reviews as I have found this vet to be quite exceptional. My first visit there, I did think he was ignoring my questions but I soon realized he was hard of hearing. They even worked with me on this occasion to make a payment plan for an emergency I could not afford. After having to put my 18 year old cat to sleep, I was pleasantly surprised to find he made a donation in the pet's name. I adopted one of the kittens they were taking care of a few months later. He does focus on the pet, not the owner and, though that seems to bother some people, I'm quite happy with his priorities. RID: 63182
Click to report rating    9/8/16   5     4     3     5   Dr Bannon and his staff really care about your animals. They have been amazing with my dogs- compassionate, good and reasonable counsel, and engage in conversation with me as needed - but focus on MY DOGS! (yeah!) The facilities are clean, though not elegant ( it is a VET office !). Punctuality ...not so good but response when it has been my dogs emergency has been great. RID: 61529

8/26/15   3     2     2     2   I have owned numerous dogs, cats, birds and horses and have been dealing with vets of all types for over 40 years. Never have I been as disappointed with a clinic as I am with this one. The safety of one of my dogs, boarded there instead of our usual kennel because he was under the weather, was compromised recently. I gave them another chance, but am now switching to another vet. Their intentions are good I think, but there is a serious lack of internal communication between vets and between technicians. You get different and contradictory answers depending on who you talk to and I find the attitude to be sloppy. For example, it can take days before someone gets back to you with an answer when you call. The clinic is also quite run down and would need some serious investments to spruce it up. RID: 58177
Click to report rating    1/15/15   2     2     1     3   We have been customers of this vet since 1999 but will now be looking to bring our business elsewhere. We have always found the level of veterinary care to be good and the staff compassionate, but we have had major problems trying to pick up our dog after boarding. Twice we arrived before closing time but the clinic was already closed and the person remaining was not authorized to check us out. Twice we arrived late--once with warning. On each occasion we demanded that the staff person call the owner, Dr. Bannon, who refused to speak with us, couldn't trouble himself to come to the clinic, and wouldn't release our dog to us. Once he agreed to let us take our dog and return the next day to pay, but on three occasions we had to wait until the next day to retrieve our dog. A rotten and foolish approach to customer service! Furthermore, we believe that the dogs may not be walked often enough during boarding, as there was little evidence of paw prints in the snow around the building. RID: 55479
12/26/14   5     3     4     5   Great staff and good value - good vets Very caring . They practice excellent medicine and do professional follow up . The facilities do need a little upgrading but they seem to have all necessary equipment so your pet is only only refered to a specialist if need be . VERY GOOD overall experience RID: 55181
Click to report rating    8/29/14   4     2     1     1   I just moved here and made the mistake of taking my dog here. What a horrible experience. I had the first appointment of the day, the vet arrived 30 minutes late, and took someone else before me because they showed up before me. What is the point of having appointments if they work on a first come first serve basis? Also, I could hear him scream at the staff and the animals while I waited for blood results... My dog has blood tests done every year because he is on a certain medication and I was charged 260$ for it, while at my other clinic it was 97$! He is grossly over charging for certain services, he is extremely RUDE, I've never waited around so long (it took over 3 hours even though I was on time, I was the first appointment, and all there was to do was a blood test). He ignores your questions or makes you feel stupid for asking them. And all he does is blame the staff. The staff is the ONLY thing that was good about this place. I am NEVER going back there. RID: 53323
Click to report rating    3/3/14   5     4     3     4   I have a dog with many complicated medical issues and we've had a great experience with this vet. The staff is friendly and approachable. I've never found the vet to be rude or have a big head. He's always answered my questions and listened to my concerns. We've never been overcharged and because we're "frequent fliers" we often get tests at a discount or free samples of new meds/foods to try. The staff calls to check in every few weeks which is nice too. RID: 50268
Click to report rating    11/30/13   4     4     4     4   I am rating this vet as there seems to be a lot of negative reviews. Dr. Marcel has been my cats' vet for the 8 years and I have no complaints. Taking care of the animal is clearly his priority and, though I've never found him to be rude, he is focused on the cat and not on the stupid diagnosis I came up with myself from looking on the internet. He seems pretty harsh with staff though, so that may explain some bad reviews. For those who would prefer the vet to focus on the owner, they could simply go to the vet up in Westmount where they charge quite a bit more. RID: 48511

9/23/13   5     5     5     5   Dr.Marcel Banon and his staff are absolutely amazing , they had my late dog buddy as a patient for years till his last heart beat on 02-22-2013 now they have my new dog moustache as a patience and each time i go there we are always happy and at eas with the service i would give the a 9/10 RID: 47159
Click to report rating    7/19/13   5     1     1     1   This vet is a joke!! he is so fake when he walks into the room... he doesn't seem to like his job in the slightest. There are many clinics out there with better practice and a lot cheaper. You pay for a full 'examination' and get him for 5 minutes...He does not give explanation and forbids you to ask questions!!! When he leaves the room you can hear him yelling at the animals or at his staff. Don't waste your time on this guy. It's so unfortunate because his staff are actually quite knowledgeable and friendly. Ultimately a huge waste of time (and money) if you actually want informed care about your beloved pet. RID: 45704
Click to report rating    7/4/13   5     5     5     5   This veterinarian and clinic deserves a higher rating. The complainers here fuss about the doctor's 'bedside manner'-- he may rub sensitive people the wrong way; but I'd call him inspired, extremely alert, and as professional as you can find. The person who insulted him for kissing their cat's nose, you missed that he truly cares for the animals he treats... your cat did NOT contract an infection from a kiss considering where cats put their noses. What we've spent at this clinic in five years has been appropriate. I was given options for the full exhaustive (and costly) treatment for serious conditions, and I was given the cheaper options, and it was left up to us. For an elaborate and nearly fatal case of jaundice and urinary infection, the doctor reduced some of the costs. We'd all be happy if we never dropped more than $49.99 at a vet, but pets are not covered by our health care system; they are just a wee bit of a luxury. What DO you love more: your pet or your plastic money? RID: 43469
11/19/12   1     2     2     1   My experience with this vet left me totally disgusted. Like others said, he is very rude, and don't you dare ask him a question, his head is so big, it barely fits through the door. Also, I think he should stop using animal medication, this guy is very agitated. He didn't even let me explain why I came there in the first place and already he was up to a few hundred dollars of tests. A real joke... never going back. RID: 38584
Click to report rating    11/14/12   5     5     4     3   Great vet - he's very caring and great with my dog. He even called later to make sure everything was fine. Staff are true animal lovers! I'm always shocked by the costs but that's probably normal for vet services. RID: 38496

8/14/12   5     5     5     5   We have nothing but good things to say and are really shocked by some of these bad reviews! We just moved into the area late last year and had a great experience here with our cat (he had a minor eye infection and needed his shots updated). They were friendly and professional, prices are good, and seem to really care for their patients... they even did a call-back to make sure he was responding well to the medication! Very impressive. Oh, and to top it off they sent us a Christmas card! How sweet is that?? Anyway, we've just adopted another cat and her first appointment is here this weekend! : ) RID: 36509
Click to report rating    7/5/12   5     5     5     5   The vet took excellent care of my kitten when he went in for surgery. I got excellent after-care instructions and a follow-up phone call from the staff a few days after the surgery to check in and make sure that he was doing well. I was really impressed that I was actually called for a follow up. They seem to really care about their patients. RID: 35480
7/1/12   5     5     5     5   I was appalled with the previous review! "Awful vet"! The best vet I've ever met! Caring and professional!Use his service for 5 years and never was forced to do unnecessary tests or vaccines. Only there I was offered a different options for surgery, as a wellness package, but was not forced to take it. No hidden charges. Always paid what I was told. They invested their time in you, you always greeted friendly, everyone is very nice, helpful and professional! I am happy with the service and staff!I hope that my review will encourage other happy clients to write their reviews. There are hundreds of "thank you" letters from clients like me! Go and see by yourself! RID: 35348
Click to report rating    3/20/12   1     1     1     1   this vet is awful. he is arrogant and awful. he is mean to his staff and treats them like garbage. RID: 33017
2/3/12   5     5     4     4   This Vet Clinic is actually a great place to go. The Vet may be a little odd but he cares about the animals that come in. He was very good with my cats and did exactly what I had asked of him. The staff helped me find new food to give to help with the problems my cat had. I am a client there now and truly enjoy it. They even offer boarding for an amazing price and are open longer, more often and later than any other vet i had gone to before!! They are very good at what they do. RID: 31995

8/7/11   2     1     1     1   Awful vet!! i brought my dog twice there and never again!! :@ he just ignores any of my questions, when i ask him something he just looks at me as if i was stupid instead of taking his time to explain me what are my dogs needs. He is just so rude, it's unbelievable! DONT GO! RID: 26789
1/28/11   5     5     5     5   I go with my dog to this hospital regularly. The professional service is excellent. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm and nice. The veterinary is really caring for his patients and remember them. All his prescriptions and recommendations work very well. I never left unsatisfied. As a client I can recommend this veterinary hospital to everyone. RID: 22436
Click to report rating    8/14/09   1     1     1     1   THEY RIPPED ME OFF!!! I called them in advance to know the price of everything I needed, vaccines and papers for my cat and the staff said 64$. I go in, expecting that if there was any add in price Id be told, the vet puts the vaccines in 2 seconds, i leave and i got charged 129$!!!! I hope karma gets to them! RID: 13841
Click to report rating    5/2/09   3     3     2     2   It was my first appointment at this vet and my last. I just moved to Montréal and had my two cats neutered 3 weeks ago so they are healthy. I brought the papers to the vet since they just needed an updated vaccination. His assistant started to examine my cats I said I just need the next shot (first has been 4 weeks at and neutered 3 weeks ago by an other vet). She accepted, 20 mins later the vet came in and started to examine them too. I said they are healthy they just need the next shot. He was kind of not listening ?? Anyhow I got the info the shots will be around 80 dollar for both cats and finally they charged me 150 dollar including the not wanted examination, had the papers with me but he kind of ignored them. He also kind of kissed my cats on their noses ?? not very hygienic since I do not know the other pets he may have kissed too. I just hope he gave the correct dose of vaccination since one other pet onwer has been there too and he had to correct the preciption of the meds. RID: 12665
