Click to report rating    8/25/18   1     1     1     1   I have a Dachshund that was having trouble delivering her pups. I called the clinic around 9:30 pm on Wednesday night and was told it will be ok it could take hours. After waiting another hour I rushed her over to the clinic for help. They took my dog in the back I was told if she needs an emergency C-section I would have to take her to another place 7 miles away. As I waited to hear 45 minutes went by when I was told all puppies were dead. I could leave her there with a puppy stuck and in the morning they would remove them from her. I asked what they are going to do with the stuck puppy. They said they may try to dislodge it and maybe she will deliver the rest. I couldn’t leave her there alone so I dislodged the puppy on my own he was alive. My son ran to get help and they took him from me and said no he is dead. She then delivered the rest and one by one they were alive. If I would have had help right away I know the boy lost would still be alive. Then then gave me a bill RID: 66711

Click to report rating    9/20/12   1     1     1     1   We brought our 110lb Doberman in CARES, Langhorne, at about 8pm Wednesday night after he ate large amount of dog supplements. He was walking by himself, fully alert and even barked. My wife was in panic but still thought that it was just a matter of cleaning /pumping his stomach and not so big deal. The doctor who admitted the dog told that it would be best for him to spend a night in the clinic because he was dehidrated. My wife asked if she can take him home and administer fluids under the skin. The doctor said it could be done but better to do an IV. She never said that the dog's condition was critical or that it could be a lethal dose of poison. And problem is not what she did or said, THE Problem was that she literally did nothing to help him in these extremely critical first hours. No water to drink, no emptying the stomach, no charcoal, nothing to support liver. They can't and are not willing to make decisions and don't even try. Saving animal life is not a high priority here. Click to report rating    9/8/11   1     1     1     1   They dislocated my dog's back leg and sent me home with her that way! I waited 2 hours to pick her up. I'm sure they were trying to "fix" her. NEVER EVER GO THERE. CARES doesn't care! RID: 27469
Click to report rating    7/16/11   1     1     1     1   its like having Bernie Madoff as a vet. They prey on vulnerable pet owners - extortion at best. The only thing the clinicians 'care' about is their own interests (front house staff seems sincere - sadly they don't call the shots). High pressure/ duress induced hard sales.... Run!!! with your pet in your arms - Run!!!! RID: 26254
Click to report rating    3/24/11   1     1     1     1   I took my pet in for a CT Scan. I was told a Dr. would call me with the results. When no Dr. called late into the day I called them and was told I could pickup my dog. When I arrived my dog was crying in extreme pain, nobody even looked at her scan, I was handed a disk and told to go to the VCA hospital to get it looked at. the VCA hospital it turns out doesn't even have a radiologist that could look at the scan. When I asked several questions before leaving CARES about my dogs pain and what I could do for it or can she have any water, etc. iwas told told repeatedly "I DON"T KNOW" to every question I asked. After a day and a half of trying to find out who was responsible to read the scan it turns out CARES was 100% responsible to read the scan. Then it turns out there radiologist was out for another 4 days so they had to ask VSEC to read it. The only person working there that knew their job was the individual who took my $1,273.00. This place is a disgrace and should be fined or closed RID: 23829
Click to report rating    5/2/09   1     1     1     1   Dr. David A. Puerto performed a routine patella "correction" surgery on my jack russell terrier. After the surgery she was sent home with the wrong dosage of pain medication. It was a much larger amount than was prescribed. He refused to document this on her medical records. Also, I repeatedly asked the doctor about possible soft tissue damage in addition to the rotating patella. He ignored this. It is now 2 and a half years later and my dog is worse than before the surgery, and has to have continual, expensive physical therapy. At present, she is worse than ever ( I had to discontinue the PT because of financial difficulties). She still limps, and lately she has not even wanted to walk - and she is a JRT! She should want to be running and jumping! I urge you not to take your precious pet to DR. Puerto! RID: 12673
