Untrustworthy, deceptive, disrespectful, and happy to lie and take advantage of people.
I had an emergency with my rabbit and couldn't go to my amazing local vet so I called Eagle Ridge and asked if they had a vet who was experienced with rabbits. They told me they did, but Dr. Ong was in surgery and could see me at a certain time. If she was not able to get out of surgery, I could leave my rabbit, and she'd see him.
When I made the long trek to this hospital, they put me in with some absolutely random vet named Dr. Yip, who just had some business cards with his name handwritten on them...and introduced himself to me 3 times. This inexperienced vet spoke down to me, had no idea about the most basic things to do with rabbits, and made me feel like I was incompetent (look in the mirror, Dr. Yip!)
I complained to the main desk, and they lied to me and said all along that I had an appointment with this random person whom I'd never heard of before.
No one should trust this place.

I only came here once but I wish I had found Dr Lin Khoo sooner. It was very tough to find a clinic willing to take hedgehogs. In the end I had to put down Harlow but I truly felt that Dr Khoo had the experience needed to understand what was going on with my hedgehog. She was very gentle with me and Harlow as was all of the other staff. It was such a hard day but I finally felt like I was doing what was right for Harlow after over a year of health issues. If you have a hedgehog please bring them here I have done all the calling and searching for a vet with experience and this is the place to come.

I can't say enough good things about this practice! The staff are wonderful and the doctor was very knowledgeable! This place is NOT a scam or money grab. They follow proper veterinary medicine. As a former vet assistant at another practice, my standards for vet care are extremely high. I am very impressed with this practice, its facility and staff. Great job guys!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with these veterinarians, the vet techs, and the front desk staff. I have been going to this vet hospital for the last 8 years whenever I have health issues with my guinea pigs.
I had previously taken my two short haired guineas pigs here and they lived long and healthy lives thanks to Eagle Ridge. Dr. Upjohn successfully treated malocclusion on multiple occasions for one of the guinea pigs' teeth and also cured upper respiratory tract infections for the other pig. I now have two skinny pigs (hairless guinea pigs) and they have been treated wonderfully by both Dr. Stockley and Dr. Hardin. The front desk staff is also very helpful. I live near downtown Vancouver and drive to this clinic because these are the only vets I trust with my guinea pigs. Their rates are very reasonable and I never feel like the vets push any diagnostic tests, meds, or procedures that aren't warranted. Take your guinea pigs to Eagle Ridge, it's worth the drive!!

Dr Stockley and the staff took amazing care of my dog. They explained all the surgery procedures, costs (which were lower that previous quotes I got from other vets) and they called me at every step to keep me informed about how he was doing. My dog couldn't been happier. This place is really professional and they know what they are doing.

In the 10 years of visiting the clinic I have found all the staff to represent quality animal and customer care. They are so genuine and compassionate even during their busiest of days.We have dealt with a number of the vets at the clinic during that time and have found them all to be highly capable and kind individuals. Our primary care has been from Dr. Upjohn. Recently my cat underwent surgery for a serious infection and post op care. My faith in Dr. Upjohn's abilities was certainly affirmed during this difficult time and my cat benefitted enormously from his treatment and attention to detail. He made daily phone calls to gather progress reports on the cat on his days off and treated my pet as though he were the doctor's only patient. What Dr. Upjohn offers is patient care that is both remarkable and priceless. My cat is a member of my family and when he's sick it is not unlike having a sick child. Being able to identify and remedy an animal's discomfort is a true gift. Thank you!

Although a little expensive, the level of expertise and service is more than worth it. All the doctors who have cared for my pets were great in explaining what they were doing; especially Dr. Upjohn. They don't recommend or push unnecessary procedures, and always give thorough examinations. They always demonstrate expertise in handling my cats who are very skittish when going to the vet. Even when they didn't have the means to give care to sick japanese koi, they found the proper channels to help me, after several other clinics turned me down for fish care. They even went as far as getting a hold of the proper injections I needed for my fish, and taking the time to teach me how to administer the medicine.

I have been taking my animals to this clinic since it opened. Dr. Upjohn and Dr. Stockley and great vets and truly care about the animals, have great technicians and are never too busy to take an emergency, as i experienced last weekend with my old dog. I don't know where I would be without them as i totally trust their opinion and experience. They have always supported dog rescue and when I take a rescue dog to foster (and I have done quite a few over the years), they always give a complimentary check up. This clinic also specializes in treating of elderly animals. I would highly recommend this clinic and would never consider going anywhere else.

The highest of praises to Dr Upjohn. He's thorough, efficient, and most importantly, he listens. There's always great flexibility with scheduling; most times we can get in in the same day if needed. The staff are knowledgeable and mostly friendly.

I have seen multiple vets here with my rabbit, cat, and dog. In general, I found their recommendations appropriate and I did not find them overly expensive, nor suggesting inappropriate tests. Overall, I think they are just average, due to lack of communication with me. For example, I came in for a check up with a new indoor & outdoor cat that I just got. After a relatively brief physical exam, I was told she is fine. When I was paying at the front office, I saw their price panel at the front. I realized that, since he is an outdoor cat, too, he definitely needs vaccines. I did get the vaccines on that visit, but the vet did not suggest them. I did tell the vet he is an outdoor cat with an unknown history. Overall, the vets are not bad, but if you visit them, you need to be involved in your pet's care, too.

Our cats our regular patients at the vet , and we have always received great service from all the staff. We have never been overcharged nor have they ever done a procedure without my concent. They always discuss step-step the approach - no different then going to your own doctor - there are protocols.. When you take your pet to a vet - if you know the protocols, when the doctors do their rounds, and when they make their calls to the pet owner - you know what to expect. I take ownership in knowing how the vet runs, and provide them with as much information about my pet to get the best treatment. They don't always prescribe drugs first, my cats have been provided with natural remedies. Their fees are in align with other vets, and they have never just charged for the sake of getting money. My cat would not be with us today if it wasn't for the doctors and the staff of Eagle Ridge Animal Hospital - he is alive and thriving because of their care.

don't go here!!! I went once and it was terrible. I paid 100.00 for an annual shot for my dog and I'm not even sure my dog got it. I saw nothing in the vets hands absolutely nothing. he saw my dog for 30 sec. and then he left. I thought he left the room for a second so I waited, but then a staff told me I w as done and told me to go pay. although confused I went to the desk and the staff plus the vet ignored me as one staff member took my money but didn't say one word to me. they were all too busy put in orders for Tim horton's. it was unbelievable. I waited for a receipt but the woman was already off to the other side pitting in her order. I had to literally shout to get their attention. finally they all looked at me and the woman reluctantly came back to print a receipt. not one apology, not even a thank you or goodbye. I couldn't believe the vet was apart of this fiasco. I still believe my dog didn't get any shot and I was scammed. don't go here, go somewhere else. scam!!

We were turned away from our original vet when we had an emergency ... so we ended up calling a few places that said no but when we called Eagle Ridge, They got us in immediately (& they seemed to be way busier than the other vet) This place is super busy and there is a reason why because they really care ! I dont mind waiting a bit longer sometimes because I know someone else may be having an emergency that day or need some extra TLC & I feel comfortable knowing that they will go out of their way for an animal in need. It is the best Vet I have ever been to (and I have been to quite a few)& we will be going there from now on. Thank you Dr. Stockley & staff !

I will not take my cats to anyone but Dr. Upjohn. He is very knowledgable on cat care and always upgrading his knowledge. He helped manage my 20 year old cat's health in her final years of life. Dr. Upjohn and staff made what was an awful experience of losing a beloved furry family member, slightly easier to bear with their compassion.

I could never take a bird to this vet again. The first time was for a simple wing clipping...surely that should be simple enough, right? NO! The young vet clipped both my birds primary AND secondary feathers! They dropped like stones for months. It was over a year before they could glide safely to the ground. The next time I went in with my love bird who started picking. I asked specifically for a bird vet. I left him with them for the afternoon and they placed a large cone around his neck covering his wings and body. I took him home but didn't feel good about it. He kept falling over and could barely walk. The cone only caused him to pick at all the feathers around his neck. I brought him back and their solution was to put more mole skin on the cone, which weighed it down even more. A few days later I found him on the bottom of his cage. The cone got caught in the grate and he strangled to death. We were devastated! Never again will I trust them!

Both Mr. Upjohn and Mr. Stockley are great vets. Whenever I had an emergency with my cockatiels they squeezed me in and took care of them. Both are knowledgeable and despite the other reviews they are not in for the money because I've not been billed several times. Would definately recommend this clinic to any bird owner. Thanks again.

Staff are rude and keep you on hold forever, Vets are monotone and really seem in it for the money. Made me put a 100$ deposit down for them to even treat me pet before they could be bothered to even tell me what it might be. Made me leave it with them, told me they were going to do various procedures to her, they didnt, they called me at the end of the day to say she had died. And later I found out what she had was easily fixable with a quick injection and some force feeding. Theyve mis-diagnosed 2 animals of mine apart from the one they let die. But happily perscribed antibiotics when they admited they didnt have a clue if there was anything wrong with the animal. 2 birds 1 dog. You couldn't pay me enough to take any of my animals back to these losers!

I don't know, what I would do without Dr. Upjohn. He's the best doctor for small exotic animals, especially for rabbits. The staff is friendly, and they take the time to ensure you get good service.I trust 100% on Dr.Upjohn, he tells you the truth, and doesn't do unnecessary test. Thanks to him and his staff,my rabbits are healthy. My last visit, Dr.Upjohn did an emergency dental surgery, during his lunch brk.My rabbit was in critical condition, and thanks to him. My rabbit survived and is recovering well. Words aren't enough, to explain how thankful I am to this hospital.I've been going to Eagle Ridge Hospital for 10 yrs.

They have had a recent changeover in the vets. The best one left. I have used them for years, but our last visit was a nightmare. The overall atmosphere was so bad that my cat went crazy and hated the new vet. I am low income and they will no longer let me pay on account although I have done so for years. I doubt if I will go back

I find for basic upkeep, like sceduled vacines ect, they are good. They definately remind you. I don't find them adaquete for dealing with any issues that arise. My friends Dog had Diabetes, and they did not manage it properly or give them the info to manage it properly. This caused him to go blind. a $3000.00 eye surgery and new vet later, this dog is happy and healthy and his diabetes is being managed properly. Well not as extreme when i took one of my cats in for peeing in the house, their solution was anti depresants and alot of unessasary expensive tests. I am not a fan of unneeded drugs, so I went to the vet that helped my friends dog. One visit and one phone call later, the answer was a simple as a litter box that had been taken away. If you have any problems, i don't find they take the time to solve them but push you through test after test then out the door. That said, Dr Upjohn was quite good, it is the rest of the doctors and the reception team thats the problem.

A friend had suggested to try this place out (for a 2nd opinion) and I must admit, I was a little taken back. The facilities are really out dated and the vet was not exactly friendly. I guess I'm use to more modern and holistic vet clinics. The vet handled my dog like a sac of potatoes and I had to tell him to not be so rough with my dog. 10 minutes into the visit, I could tell this was a waste of time. He didn't even read the files that I had previously faxed over!!! I basically had to advise him on how to treat my dog's type of liver condition. The stuff he was telling me was so out dated and he obviously does not keep up to date!!

I've been going here since 1986 when I first got a dog. Dr. Upjohn & Dr. Stockley were the two vets at the beginning, although the practice has expanded since. I find the staff very compassionate, gentle with animals, and helpful. When my dachshund had a ruptured disk and needed back surgery, they didn't waste crucial time with unnecessary tests, but got us a prompt referral to a critical care practice where he had surgery within a couple of days. They seem to know what they're talking about, and are patient and responsive when I ask lots of questions. And they are understanding and empathetic when euthanasia is the only option (even when it was my budgie).

I really want to keep him to myself, but if you are a pet lover, Dr. UpJohn is a godsend. Absolutely wonderful and I don't work for him. He saved my persian's life a couple of times. He problem solved with her symptoms and really was concerned about her health and welfare. I am so pleased with his care and attention. Yes, they run behind and yes, the staff may appear busy, but Dr. UpJohn is amazing. Can't say enough about him.

This is the best clinic for small animals. I take my dogs in too! Dr Upjohn really knows his stuff. If I check what he says on the Internet he is bang on! I take all my animals to him. I like that he will do a diagnosis without doing a gazillion tests that cost a fortune. His instincts have been bang on. Yes you do have to wait sometimes but that is because they are busy. As for giving motility drugs without an X-ray...they are not dangerous to rabbits and are the number 1 cause of problems.

I was referred here from a friend, and I was not impressed at all. I walked in one minute late, and then they took my dog and I in 20 minutes later. Secondly, the vet didn't even introduce herself to us. I thought that was odd and rude. She basically didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, and she also gave my dog an injection without even telling me. She told me after the fact and then charged me for it and for another type of exam, and I was never told they would be a separate fees. I will not return to this place, I paid a lot of money for nothing.

I find that this clinic has excellent treatment protocols but isn't the best diagnostic team. Dr Upjohn is good but with any pet, you really need to educate yourself about any treatments they may need. He wanted to put my rabbit on motility drugs first without an x-ray which is a no-no. Xrays should be taken of any animal when gut slowdown is observed as it is very possible they have a partial intestinal blockage. Motility drugs used with a blockage can be very bad as it can cause the intestine to rupture and consequent death. But I suggested the xray, he did agree and did one in the end. I have heard the same concerns from a few friends- treatment without firm diagnosis. The clinic listens to clients which is great if you are an informed owner but I wish they were a bit more cautious about the diagnosis before treating. They are very affordable too.
