I absolutely would not recommend Callison Veterinary Clinic. To make a very long story short, on June 14, 2012 i took my 7 month old AKC registered male German Shepherd there to have a cyst removed from his left rear ankle. When i returned at 10:00 am the following morning to pick him up, it was obvious he was in pain and he would not walk on his RIGHT rear leg. After a couple of days it was clear he had been seriously injured while at Callison Veterinary Clinic. So I called Dr. Sandra Callison and asked that he be examined by another veterinarian, who informed me his right femoral head had been fractured. After that, he was referred to Virginia Tech Veterinary Hospital where they performed surgery on his broken hip. That resulted in him regaining partial use of his right rear leg, but, sadly he has had to undergo two additional surgeries due to his condition worsening. He still suffers bouts of lameness in the right rear leg despite limiting his activity.

Her attitude is...take it or leave it. It's as if she is paying the client to bring in their pet. No...not a good or pleasant manner about her and I would not leave my animal there.

I highly recommend Dr. Callison. She is the consummate professional - both skilled and compassionate. I also found her to be a wonderful communicator - taking the time to reassure me, explain procedures, and patiently answer all my questions. Her modern clinic is clean, warm, and inviting. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, and organized and I felt very good about leaving my cat friend there to recover after surgery. A week after performing successful surgery on my cat - and despite a busy caseload - Dr. Callison took the time to call me at home, "just to check and see how your kitty is doing." I was impressed by her follow up and her genuine concern for me and my pet. Anne Ranck

The veterinarian(Dr. sandy callison) has a very bad attitude, I always have to wait forever on her, and she is not reasonable with prices.
