I switched to Kortright about 2 years ago from another clinic in Guelph. I am very happy with the staff, from the front end to the girls in the back. Vets are very up to date, have discussions with me vs telling me what is going to happen. I couldn't get in one day to pick up my cats medication, Michelle drove out of her way to deliver it on her own time, paid my bill even until I saw her again to pay her back. Great staff! Great vets! Great place to go!

I have been very happy with my experience at Kortright. I transferred from another hospital in Guelph and will never leave here now. The staff is excellent, caring and very professional. The vets are amazing! Explains things very well. The people here rating poorly, I question where your pet sits in your family. Obviously just a dog/cat, nothing more. You should be going elsewhere if that is the case. Leave spots for people like me :)

I take my boy there for acupuncture every 4-6 weeks. They are very kind and welcoming. Always make sure they get down and say hi to him (and me), and very calm approaching him as he is also blind. Dr.Kraft treat him with the upmost care and they don't even wink an eye when he has knocked over a whole bowl of water, or leave half of his coat behind as he is a shedder. They have suggested medication but never felt pressured ( I did end up moving forward with the medication on my next visit after looking into it more.) The only reason I don't go here for all my vetting needs is the prices (I have 2 dogs and 4 cats, so it adds up), plus the great relationship with my primary vet.

Had my dog put down here. They took too long after putting the intervenise in her arm and she paced frantically. Horrible experience from an amateur vet or vet assistant.

They will push you and corner you into spending lots of money there. They are ridiculously expensive and have no shame. There are other hospitals in Guelph that offer very good care for a lot less harassment.

Never bring your pets here as Tammy Hunter is abusive and she over charges. I walked away in tears as she did not even want to give me my cats blood test results due to me asking financial questions. She yelled at me and was in my face as I asked about the money I was being charged. I would never trust her with an innocent animal who has no voice as she has a temper.

I have to tell you how extremely happy we are with the whole Kortright Animal Hospital team! Since my first conversation over the phone, to every visit we've had, we are continually impressed with every aspect of having our pets cared for. We couldn't be happier that we chose Kortright when we moved to Guelph.

I had an awesome appointment with my new kitten at kortright. They are so friendly and caring and take the time to go over things in detail. Although they are a bit more expensive, it's definitely worth it. I had a tour and saw the excellent quality of the equipment and the extras they do that I've never had anywhere in the past. My pet is part of the family and they treated her just like that.

I had a horrible experience at the Kortright Animal Hospital. I went in clearly stating I only wanted my puppy's first booster shots (a cost of $130 - they told me) however they ended up charging me for ridiculous things (WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE BEFOREHAND) such as "nutritional counselling" ... which I NEVER asked for. As well they took my puppy out of the room for his shots and I heard him crying hysterically from the other room over. Please note when I took my puppy for his second round of shots (obviously to a different vet) he had NO problems and didn't even make a sound!! I felt pressured by them to sign up for "pet insurance" and they even tried to pressure me to clip his nails which I wasn't comfortable doing yet. He also cried hysterically during the nail trimming because they held him with no distraction (ie at the new vet i'm seeing they distract him with mushy puppy food) I was DISGUSTED with the price at the end of the visit ($250)!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

The Kortright animal Hospital is very expensive. The cost to have our cat operated on was twice as much as at least two other highly reviewed animal hospitals. I don't mind it being a little bit higher but twice the cost is stupid. We are changing our vet options.

I am so pleased with how my pets are treated at Kortright Animal Hospital. The staff are friendly, professional and are always happy to see my dogs. Facility is immaculate, I have been to several other vets in the Guelph and none have compared. Costs have never been a concern for me and my pets as they are like my children, and I appreciate when they reference to me as mom. (silly negative posted below) I even enjoy when the one nurse calls her self 'Aunt Carley'... It gives me such comfort knowing that they care about my dogs as much as I do. Pets cost money, if you don't want to spend much at the vet don't get a pet. The amazing pet care I have received at Kortright Animal Hospital is worth every penny. Thanks for doing what you do!

Best vets ever. Staff is amazing, my 2 dogs love coming here and get the royal treatment. Higher premiums may exist because they offer higher service and care. Want a vet to actually care about your animals well being? Come to Kortright Animal Hospital. Free nail clipping with every visit as well lots of love, attention and stress free environment. People below complaining about price - you get what you pay for. It's not 1950 anymore, which may come as a shock to the negative reviewers. Guess what, animals feel just as much as humans and if you want your animals to feel as good as they possibly can, visit Kortright Animal Hospital. They truly care about pets and their caretakers.

Everyone at Kortright Animal Hospital is so friendly and always willing to help me when I come in with my cat Molly. Molly is not always a happy camper going to the vet but the staff are gentle and really care about making Molly's experience as stress free as possible. I would"t take her anywhere else. And the cost...you get what you pay for.

Whenever I would bring in my dog, their blonde receptionist was way too keen and phony. She always refers to me as my dogs mommy, and makes little cracks about how my dog wants to be with her mommy. I have real kids. I don't want some bizarre receptionist in scrubs refering to my dog as one of my kids. The staff are pushy always trying to sell me extra stuff. The vets have been ok but they push all the extras and are way too expensive. I had no idea until I asked a friend how much she paid, and I am paying way more. She also told me that she switched from this place after they had a problem with their dog getting some bad reaction after one of the vets injected him with something. The only upside is that there is easy parking, and it's close to shopping.

I highly recommend experiencing Kortright Animal Hospital's practice. It is all about educating their patients and preventative care to take care of your pet for a long time. As for the below negative comments, I completely disagree with the ratings. The ratings ask your opinion on Monetary Value, not what your overall bill was. Owning a pet is not inexpensive, and as far as I'm concerned for value, I rate this 5/5. I don't consider reminder calls 'upselling', intact I appreciate their extra care for my pet. I enjoy follow up calls, it really shows that they care. For a veterinary clinic with state-of-the-art technology and well-trained, knowledgable staff, I consider it a great value. They are always welcoming new technology and training, which makes me feel very confident in bringing my pet, as I know my pet will be treated the same way I would wish to be treated. Sometimes I wish my family doctor was the same way...

I have been going to Kortright for the past 15 years. The staff is truly amazing. I LOVE Dr. Kraft. My dog was misdiagnosed for years until he got his hands on him. He is now very healthy and is enjoying the rest of his life. I cannot believe the comments below. Just remember you get what you pay for and if your dog died at home I am 99% sure it suffered. I wouldn't be proud of that. The upselling you refer to is PREVENTIVE care. I would rather discover a concern earlier rather then when it is too late and my "dog dies at home". Be honest people you just do not want the type of care that is provided by Kortright. Why don't you take your poor animals to other cheaper vet clinics that do not care about your pets. I only wish that my doctor would provide the same care to me that I receive from Dr. Kraft and his wonderful staff. I recently lost my son and staff from Kortright showed up to the funeral to pay there respects. Those are the same people you are complaining about!!!

This was a great vet clinic when Tom Webb/Sherri Demar and subsequently Jane Burgesss/Kate Kuczminski had the practice-they would have received full ratings. The current owners, Hunter/Kraft are a pair of pushy, greedy, money grubbing ****s. If you take your pet in for a routine checkup, upselling will occur, and the staff will make sure and phone to remind you of appointments and will further try to upsell. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THESE PEOPLE. IT WILL COST YOU BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Recently, our dog passed away and my family was grateful that we did not have to take her there to be euthanized! They should be reported to the college of veterinarians!

I really like the veterinarians and staff here, they really care for my pets and love what they do. I know that I can find a cheaper vet (like anything in life), but believe that you get what you pay for. I do not want my veterinarian cutting any corners to save costs when it comes to my golden retriever or cats.

I agree with the up selling. Our last visit was for my pet;s annual check up. After the "apparent necessary tests" our bill was over $700. I highly suggest you go elsewhere!!!

While the staff is very nice, the overtures of upselling are constant. You get the sense it's a business 1st, a vet clinic second. Nothing wrong with making money, but it shouldn't come across to obviously.

We switched vets after hearing that one of my coworkers was being charge far less for similar services at her veterinarian compared to what we were paying at Kortright. We liked the staff and the service there but there was a sense that everything was about the $$$. We received endless phone calls reminding us to buy food, get check ups etc. It got very annoying. After we switched I noticed an immediate change in the cost of vet care. One bill we paid at Kortright came to $179 and the new vet charged us $94; the services and drugs on the bills were exactly the same so that's a pretty clear indication of the cost difference for the same services. Our new vet does not have computers in every room or free coffee or a big staff but they give great care at a much better price. Kortright is great though if you want all the bells and whistles and you don't mind paying for them.
