Click to report rating    8/26/21   1     1     3     2   I have taken all pets to this clinic for over 25 years and now I wouldn’t ever even consider it. After having my 10 month old dog there for surgery she ended up at an emergency vet for life threatening emergency surgery. A couple of days later the receptionist called to book an appointment to have all her staples removed and see how she was doing. I explained what had happened and the vet or owners didn’t even have the decency to call me or take any responsibility. If you love your pets don’t take them there. RID: 70089

Click to report rating    5/16/17   1     3     3     1   This is by far the worst experience I had at a vet clinic. The veterinary doctor was rude and verbally abusive towards me, as well as treated my dog very aggressively, He made her bleed and put her in unnecessary pain. He made my dog very anxious and uncomfortable. The vet seemed eager to preformed test on my dog that had no merits and were not going to help my dog's condition. He did not read my dogs medical file before hand and was prescribing drugs that could hurt my dog. Also, there was a girl in the reception area that brought her dog for diagnosis and treatment and was crying, she was not happy with the vet's recommendation. The receptionist was lovely, but other than that, the vet services are poor and if you are not knowledgable about your pet's health, possible conditions and options, these vets can really hurt your pet. Please do not take your animals to this clinic. RID: 63661
Click to report rating    10/24/16   1     3     3     3   I'm pet sitting for a co-worker whose pet is on a urinary care diet. Ran out of food and went here to get more. Staff told me it's a "perscription" and thus needed a vet to ok it. Told them I just ran out and had no more food, their response was "oh well". They would rather KNOWINGLY have an animal go hungry then SELL me a bag of food. Last I checked perscriptions were for controlled substances, and pet food is not controlled no matter how special it is. If vet clinics and their staff are happy having animals go hungry then you need to ask yourself what type of care are they really giving your animal behind the scenes. RID: 61881
Click to report rating    8/24/16   5     5     5     5   Our dogs have received wonderful care under the vets at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Stouffville. We would highly recommend this clinic. RID: 61412
Click to report rating    2/18/15   3     2     2     2   Liked older vet. Younger vet had an attitude towards co-worker - almost smoke up (could only imagine what happens behind closed doors when customers are not there). Techs seem really nice, sweet and punctual. Also an elderly employee (tech?) that seemed frazzled/ slightly annoying. Do not like the facility - switched clinics due to bad vibe. Pet doing great. RID: 55931
Click to report rating    3/21/14   5     5     5     5   For 30 years I was a client of a high end downtown veterinary clinic. A friend mentioned that she had switched to Town and Country and I thought I'd give it a try.Fifteen years later I am happier than ever with the care my large household is receiving. The doctors' diagnostic skills are superb. They are extremely generous with their time spent with both me and each of my animals. They consult me about treatments, diagnoses and costs before proceeding. There is a 24 hour / 7 days a week service from this clinic so that emergency clinics are a thing of the past for me. There is a wonderful "take home" policy for the very ill, whereby the attending doctor will house the animal in his own home overnight or for the weekend. No animal is ever left unattended. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and my visits to the clinic are always positive and very often fun! It does not get better than this! RID: 50606
Click to report rating    3/7/14   5     5     5     5   Our emergency happened on Labour Day weekend of 2013. Our Shepherd mix "Scooter" had a fun time at the family bbq, yet on the drive home, he was in a lot of pain and couldn't get comfortable. His stomach was big and bloated. Right away we knew it was bad.TWISTED STOMACH!! We phoned Town and Country's emergency pager and luckily Dr. Brendon answered. We got Scooter to him just in time! Dr. Brendan performed a stomach untwisting surgery and he said we were just in time as Scooter's stomach wasn't in any more distress. They worked overnight (on a long weekend) and provided Scooter with amazing care. Their bedside manner and communication was informative and compassionate. Scooter made a full recovery and bounced back as if nothing happened. Truly it was a terrifying life and death situation and we were relieved that the Town and Country team were there to help us keep our family member. Thank you to the whole team, you are all appreciated! RID: 50378
Click to report rating    8/24/13   5     5     5     5   There are no words to express how incredible Dr. Laing and the team at Town and Country are. Thanks to their experience and no stone unturned attitude my dog is alive today. Not only did they save her life, but thanks Dr. Laing's new app "BEST DOGGONE DIET", her weight for the first time in years is the same as when she was a pup. With all of that said, what I think of most when thinking of the Town and Country team, is their genuine care and concern. They take you into their family. RID: 46498
Click to report rating    8/1/13   5     4     4     5   I love this clinic. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and helpful. The vets, as a group, not only treat my pets, but take the time to teach me about the condition that we are dealing with. Whenever, I am faced with a decision, the vets provide me with all the information required, including pricing, but allow me to make my own decisions, and respect them. The availability of 24/7 is a huge piece of mind as well. I always know that I can count on Town and Country, and I appreciate them very much. I would never consider going to another clinic. RID: 46027
Click to report rating    7/12/13   3     2     3     2   Would not recommend this clinic. Vet called his dog with a liver shunt an "idiot", gave duplicate vaccinations, and misdiagnosed a serious illness in my dog. RID: 43882

Click to report rating    3/15/13   5     5     5     5   My family has been using this clinic since It was opened and I would NOT go anywhere else with my animals! Brian and Peter are like no others and I come all the way from Clarington (well worth the drive!) I tried a new clinic when I moved and I knew right away it wasn't the same. Their service and knowledge is unlike anyother and I will not trust anyone else with my animals. My Englsih Bulldog suffers from tremors and at first this was very alarming. They go above and beyond in their work and do not use the typical "we can't help unless we see the animal"! From emails to late night calls, they do it all. Kepp up the great work :0) RID: 41093
Click to report rating    11/20/12   5     5     5     5   Brian and Peter have taken time out to look after my dog who was suffering from Lymphoma two years ago. They are educated and can empathize with owners who are dealing with such stressful and heart wrenching siutations. Sadly, my dog passed away but I do believe Brian and Peter have given us the best options and advice. Two years later, they still come to the rescue though at the time my kitten was in another emergency clinic (closer by my home due to the emergency). I just want to say I appreciate more than they know, the time and advice despite me being at another clinic. They are definitely more about your pets quality of life than the monetary gain. Worth the drive and your trust. When we are ready for another pet we would be definitely going back to Town and Country Animal Hospital. RID: 38605
Click to report rating    7/14/12   5     5     5     5   Town & Country provided me with INCREDIBLE emergency service today. In 100 degree weather, while attending a dog-show my dog began to show signs of significant heat-stroke. We raced her to Town and Country in our Air Conditioned truck, where she started to defecate herself and her tongue became purple. We expected the worse. They accepted us with ZERO wait, sprinted me upstairs, and had her drenched in cold water with an IV within 45 secs. of entering (seriously). A sedative, steroid, and some great service and we left with a happy healthy Bulldog! To be honest, price in this instance wasn't an issue, but it turned out to be reasonable. Great care, great service and LIFE SAVING!!! RID: 35641
Click to report rating    2/22/12   5     5     5     5   The staff are great. Dr Brian is very good at explaining what is wrong with the animal and explaining indepth. Very good experience. RID: 32387
Click to report rating    10/14/11   2     5     5     5   Wonderful veterinarian. Town and Country don't rob you for your money and the veterinarian has always been knowledgeable. However, the receptionist at the front desk is a real piece of work and can be quite rude on the phone. I'm thinking she takes her job for granted because she's all smiles and polite around the veterinarian, then different when the veterinarian isn't around. I was starting to think it was me but after reading these reviews, I'm thankful I'm not the only person that felt this way. Her attitude towards you on the phone is no where near professional. RID: 28315
Click to report rating    1/11/11   5     5     5     5   I love this clinic! The doctors are wonderful and really do care about my dogs and cat. I've seen them for after hours emergencies too and I've been very happy with their service. They charge what's fair without throwing on extra tests for the sake of it. The staff is super nice and helpful. All the girls are terrific and have always treated me well. RID: 21954
Click to report rating    8/21/10   1     3     2     2   THe vets where alright! did there job fast kinda rushed but helped my animal. But I had to deal with the worst receptionest ever a blond i think her name was Kera. She was down right nasty and should not belong in a vets office! I will no longer be going to this clinic after 12 years of being with this hospital! I do have to say that the the one girl Heidi and chelsey are a dolls and needs to find them selves a better clinic to work at! RID: 19334
Click to report rating    6/15/10   5     5     5     5   Love this clinic, their friendly staff and Brian & Peter. I came here several years ago after being frustrated at spending lots of money at another clinic without my pet getting any better. They figured out the issue real quickly after the first visit and now Max is back on track. Highly recommend you go to this clinic. You will not be disappointed. RID: 18389
Click to report rating    5/25/10   1     2     2     1   Went here for years, but after a few bad experiences decided to switch. I had put up with the rude staff, I can live with that. But after having had one of the vets (red hair) be verbally inappropriate as well as unecessarily physical with a nervous dog (the other vets are quite good I must say). And then having had a medical emergency, where after paging the hospital at 8pm and recieving no call back, I decided that my pets and I deserve better service for the fees (which are on the high side) we pay. I have friends who have switched with horror stories (which wouldn't be fair to share), but I would at least recommend you consider what you expect from your vet when evaluating this facility. Click to report rating    10/19/09   5     5     5     5   I used to bring my dog to another vet before finding this place and I'm so glad I made the change! The entire staff team is knowledgeable and friendly. My dog actually remains calm when the vets do the annual check-up. I once has an emergency at 3am and the vet was right on it without any attitude. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet!! RID: 14882
