I disagree with the other bad rating. My cat was not eating and Dr. Malik performed a physical exam. He did not try to perform any other tests or worry about the final bill. He was only concerned about the well being of my cat.

This practice was recently taken over by Dr. Malik. I have found the care given by both Dr. Malik and his staff to be excellent. They truly care about their patients and their owners. Dr. Malik is a very caring doctor and discusses all options with the owner. They took fantastic care of my cat through a difficult time. I would highly recommend Dr. Malik to everyone that I know.

Wonderful staff the girls are great and compassionate the vet is knowledgable and very kind. Happy to have found them for our new pup. :)

Dr.Hacking is nice, but I found it odd that I had to ask her to touch my dog, when I inquired about a lump. I had to ask, "Can you feel it for me?" She is no-nonsense and kind, but I don't think we'll stay here for the long term. She is getting on in age and it's a bit far from our home. I have had to question some billing too. She once did a shot for my dog, and barely looked at him but receptionist charged me for an exam fee. I fought it and had my account credited but I shouldn't have been charged in the first place. Another time, she saw my cat for a "holistic" consult but didn't prescribe any homeopathic remedy and still the staff charged me for a holistic consult...even though it ended up being a simple exam. Again, I had to say something ... before my account was credited. I just wish we could find a vet office that doesn't seem bottom-line-oriented at the end of the day. I think Dr. Hacking cares, but it is a business at the end of the day.

Dr Hacking is semi retired we use to use her and really liked her but this new vet that thye have is not very nice.He seems to be money hungry and I don't think he knows his stuff..We won't be going back to this animal hospital

Dr. Hacking is the reason we started using this animal hospital; she is a nice person but nearing retirement. While we were very happy with initial service and care from both Dr. Hacking and the receptionists/ technicians at Ballantrae, there has been a definite change in staff over the past eight months and service has declined.
