Click to report rating    1/23/15   5     5     4     5   I bring all my small animals and cat to see Dr.Prus. All the staff are very caring and helpful when I phone up asking questions about my animals. The prices are also pretty reasonable. I would recommend this hospital to anyone. RID: 55588

Click to report rating    11/7/13   2     4     4     4   Have brought numerous rats and rabbits to this clinic for surgeries and diagnostics. Dr. Prus always does a great job but support staff is unorganized and some inexperienced. Always disappointed with follow ups and aftercare but keep going back because the surgeries are always a success. RID: 48118
Click to report rating    9/9/13   5     5     5     5   My leopard gecko was on deaths door and in a panic I called them. They managed to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday and take a look at him. He was so ill but they took such great care of him and set up him up with a great regime so I think he's going to be just fine now. I can't speak highly enough of the amazing staff there. RID: 46820
Click to report rating    8/21/13   4     4     3     5   We did not have a great experience with Dr Prus. The staff was fine, but every time we saw Dr. Prus, we felt rushed. We felt as though she our concerns were disregarded and our animals left most times untreated or undertreated. We took our pets to see her 4-5 times within a few weeks insisting that things were getting worse, and were left with no choice but to get a second opinion. It turned out that our concerns were valid, and they definitely needed more aggressive treatments immediately. It's now a month later, and one of our pets is doing better, but the other is still in recovery. RID: 46423
Click to report rating    8/13/13   5     5     5     5   All the staff at King George Vet clinic are knowledgeable and kind, pleasant and compassionate. The level of care for all 5 of the pets I have taken to KG vet over the past 8 years has been in the top 2 "best" in my 50 years of pet ownership. And their rates are reasonable. RID: 46282

Click to report rating    4/10/13   5     4     3     4   The staff was wonderful and helpfull. We took my bird in because over the holiday he began to pluck his tail feathers (including blood feathers). We took him in to see what was wrong and they told us to try and keep him busy and that he had an infection from breaking the skin and if he kept doing it to come back for a cone...ended up back to get a cone (which was a rodent cone with duct tape and was far too heavy for him). Took him back for supplementary visit and got no information aside from he looks better. Everything looked good until they were closed almost every time I called..so we went to another bird specialist and were told it was liver problems. Not once was I offered to have any tests done at this vet and the moment we walked into the second vet she asked me right away why his feathers were dark another thing this vet never asked...they only treated the infection not the problem. Wouldn't trust my birds to this vet. RID: 41661
Click to report rating    10/16/12   4     5     4     5   Dr. Prus is great with small animals and really knows her stuff. RID: 37851
4/27/12   4     3     2     1   Follow up on the bird with the fractured leg: never allowed to see the x-ray.Spoke to 3 different receptionists- 3 different estimates (over phone and in person)fee varied wildly.1st Written estimate lacked detailed break-down of $571 fee, what treatment was being done, etc.Bird needed a splint & collar.Week-end Vet (not Dr Prus)was upset I didn't want to pay for a pain-killer I didn't feel was required-leg was immobilized and he was only squacked if up, otherwise fine- birds are hardier than you think.Vet threatened to report me to SPCA!I called SPCA- it's not Animal Cruelty.Bird was slinted well but they put a Rat/Mouse collar on him and it looked and wore poorly.Made a better on at home w/scissors & clean Margarine lid.Charged over $500. Demanded detailed fee breakdown and still $125 was "misc"!You need deep pockets to deal with these people - they don't advise you-they do whatever & you pay-period. Won't be back - ever. Exploitive experience. Shop around!! RID: 33836
4/20/12   4     5     4     3   I was given an $167.00 estimate for treatment (for a possible fractured parrot's leg) over the phone by reception. This was for an X-ray and a splint. This seemed more than reasonable and was a deciding factor to try this Vet out. When I brought my pet in I was hit with an estimate of $571.00 - and I had to leave a $100.00 deposit! A substantial discrepency. Do your homework and shop around. Vets are like any Doctor or Dentist and don't lower themselves to discuss something as crass as money and they let their staff do that - DO NOT TAKE WHAT A RECEPTIONIST TELLS YOU AS GOSPEL! Ask questions and ask alot of questions. That being said, if my beloved critter pulls through and recovers 100% - than the $571.00 is well spent. RID: 33644
Click to report rating    1/31/11   5     4     4     5   Awesome staff, good advice, don't rush you. And if they don't know something, they TELL you, don't just mumble through it. RID: 22504
Click to report rating    1/28/11   5     5     4     4   The staff were excellent as I called to make an appointment to have my girl (canine) put down. I was in tears but the receptionist was very kind in going through the questions with me. When it was done they didn't rush me out but closed the door and let me have my time with her. And when I picked up her ashes today, it was the same kindness shown. The place was clean, didn't smell, kind of cute to see the birds coming and going. They weren't exactly right on time, but not bad. And I think the charges were in line with the services rendered. RID: 22450
Click to report rating    1/13/11   5     4     4     4   If it wasn't so far away I would always go here. For exotic pets (ie, my degus) I still always take them here. Nothing else in the Vancouver area I trust them to. RID: 22037
Click to report rating    10/14/10   5     5     5     5   I've had the pleasure of taking my rabbit to see Dr. Prus twice. The first time it was for a pre-surgical consultation (I was getting my 6 yr old rabbit spayed at another clinic and I wanted a 2nd opinion). Dr. Prus was very knowledgeable, and definitely rabbit savvy. I was exceptionally pleased with the way Dr. Prus handled my rabbit. Considering that my girl was 6 and unspayed, she can be aggressive at times. Dr. Prus was able to flip her on her back with ease. After my girl's surgery, she came home with a corneal ulcer (which was likely caused by the staff at the other clinic while she was under anesthesia). Again, Dr. Prus handled my girl gently, and she was able to put ointments and clean my rabbit's eyes without causing much stress. I definitely will be going back to Dr. Prus when my ferrtet needs a check up, as well as recommend her to others. The staff are friendly, the clinic is clean, and the prices are more than fair. RID: 20293
Click to report rating    8/18/10   5     4     3     5   I have 6 ferrets, so finding a knowledgeable vet for them can be tricky. Lots of vets claim they know ferrets, but I can see thru them. Dr. Prus knows them inside and out - literally. Even the locums that she hires are very competent (Props to Dr. Wall!). Dr. Prus and her staff are all very compassionate and devoted people. My only issue is that the waiting room can get backed up and I remember sitting in there for 30 minutes or so after my scheduled appointment. It's worth it, tho, to have such a wonderful vet care for my animals. I recommend Dr. Prus to anyone with exotics. RID: 19281
Click to report rating    8/17/10   5     5     5     5   Dr. Prus and her staff are very caring and have good animal handling skills. They always take very good care of my lizards. When in the waiting room, I have spoken to other customers with cats, dogs, birds, ferrets and other lizards and they all speak very highly of Dr. Prus. The hospital is very clean and has a calm, but efficient atmosphere. I also find the fees for service are within what I would expect to pay. RID: 19271

7/9/09   5     5     4     5   I don't want to say how good this vet and her staff are.. as I don't want any one else to find out about this best kept secret :)i would never go anywhere else.. a good old fashioned vet with morals and common sense. RID: 13441
Click to report rating    6/8/09   5     5     5     5   Vet is excellent, both resident and fill-in vets. All staff are very thorough and take care of both our dogs (lrg and small) and our pet bunny Jake. Highly Recommended RID: 13091
