Click to report rating    1/28/14   1     1     1     1   All three of my dogs became ill with the same issue after visiting Dr. Etzel. Two of my dogs had seizures after a routine "teeth cleaning" and the third dog came home coughing. They were never the same and all three dogs died one after the other of the same thing, Kidney failure. RID: 49517

Click to report rating    10/19/12   1     1     3     1   I had taken both my cat and dog to Dr Etzel and sadly this was the worst decision I have ever made! I brought my dog in,3 years old, to have his leg checked out due to a slight limp that would come and go ever so often. She advised that he was due for his vaccines next month, but also that he had a fever. She chose to continue with the vaccines to which he immediately vomited, not once but 5 times over a half hour period. She stated to take him home, put him in A/C,and pet his belly.By the time we were able to get him to an emergency facility after leaving her office it was too late,we lost our baby :( My cat was seen previously due to chronic vomititing, which she prescribed a laxative to resolve stating it was most likely due to hair balls (which I chose not to give her) she did not administer any blood work, nothing. After the loss of our dog,I chose to get a second opinion on our cat.Sadly I was too late, she had IBD which now developed into GI Cancer. She has crushed my households soul!! Click to report rating    8/17/11   3     3     4     2   We have both dogs and cats, and have taken them to Floyd Harbor for the past 5 years or so. they've always been very helpful with normal routine shots. However, recently, my cat has come down with a continuous rash that causes her to scratch until she bleeds. It re-occurs monthly after the cortizone shots wear off. I'm planning to go to another vet, since I've found the Doc's "wait and see" way of treatment to be painful for my cat, and just as painful to watch. RID: 26983
Click to report rating    8/4/11   5     5     5     5   Dr Barbara Etzel is a wonderful Vet Her staff are the best. I have been taking my animals there for over 15 years. I would highly recomend her RID: 26699
Click to report rating    8/14/10   1     1     1     1   BEWARE! My cat almost died at her hands. If it were not for the life saving treatment another vet performed within 24 hours of leaving her office, my cat would not be here. My cat was near death, down to 5 pounds, and suffering from a severe, immovable, large impaction along the entire length of her body that she had for weeks, unbeknown to anyone because she was an indoor cat that got outside for a month when she finally came home. She was admitted as an emergency and they never took an X-ray and she sat suffering for four days. Another Dr. saved her life by diagnosing with an x-ray (He was shocked Dr. Etzel didn't use an x-ray to rule-out certain conditions and diagnose) and then administering two enemas a day apart and specific solution injections into her stomach lining. It was touch and go but she pulled through only because of Dr. Lynch. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO FLOYD HARBOR unless you want profoundly substandard care or the potential your animal might die from negligence. RID: 19225
