The Meloxidyl Rx's for my dog had a 60% increase ($40 more) in $$ over the same med at Walmart. The owners refused to write an Rx for Walmert citing it wasn't in my pet's best interest as they don't know where Walmart gets it's meds from, & question quality. They said a pharmacist trained in human medicine isn't same, and the owner believed his clients should support small businesses, not bigbox pharmacies. I get small businesses need to make a profit, & offered $20 more then Walmart or an Rx to take to Walmart. I was told the only way I was getting the med was to pay what they wanted. I understand the concern re med quality if ordered from a noname site, but Walmart is a national pharmacies. To say their suppliers are shaddy is crazy. Walmart has a PetMed division, to say their meds are compromised/dispensed by incompetant individuals is nuts. I offered to meet halfway. 60% markup is screwing people. Refusing written Rx requests is unethical by the AVMA.

Would never take pet here again, had to bring my pet in when he was throwing up, they said they had a full schedule so I needed to drop pet off, dropped off right away in morning, staff never called with updates, come to find out vet didn't even show up until noon and did surgeries then so my pet wasn't even looked at until I showed up around 3. Staff hurried around to have vet look at my pet and I ended up just being told to put on rice diet. After my pet spent all day in a busy and strange place sitting in a cage. Sure the prices are good but I took my dog to a legit vet that actually took time to look at my dog and give me real medical options. Staff is really nice and caring but Vet needs some lessons in caring for animals. Would recommend taking pet for the cheap vaccines but would never go for any other problem.
