Click to report rating    9/10/12   5     5     5     5   I love this place and am sad I've moved too far away to continue bringing my kitties here. I saw Dr. Wheeler for all my cats for 20+ years, and always found him to be thorough, skilled and friendly as well. When I've had to have a cat put to sleep, he was so warm and compassionate, giving the kitty sedation and then letting us have time to say goodbye. He used gas anesthesia when other places were still using ketamine IV, which animals can die from if they're sensitive. He has been using a laser instead of a scalpel for years, because it causes less pain and swelling. What a fantastic place this is! RID: 37107
Click to report rating    3/12/12   5     5     5     5   In 1986 I had a very sick cat and called Dr. Wheeler to see if I could bring him in. He took the time to see me when other vets would not. He examined my cat Romeo and treated him (3 days in hospital on iv's)explaining his condition, treatment options, and answered any questions. I was allowed to see Romeo daily until I could take him home. He then called to check up on him. That was my 1st visit to DR. Wheeler, now it's 2012; I have moved south years ago and he moved his practice north to Fort Harrison (Vet Clinic). I continue to take all my animals to Dr. Wheeler; and he continues to examine thoroughly and take the time to discuss the illness and treatments. We have been through my dogs cancer, seizures, torn acl (fixed like new), sadly euthanasia and various other ailments/injuries. Dr Wheeler never once failed to be respectful to the animals and myself. RID: 32840
Click to report rating    6/18/09   1     1     1     1   DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS VETERINARIAN. THE VET, TODD MICHAEL WHEELER, CAUSED THE DEATH OF MY PET DUE TO HIS NEGLIGENT CARE. HE DOES NOT OFFER OR SUGGEST PREVENTATIVE OR PRESURGERY XRAYS/TESTING PRIOR TO RECOMMENDING SURGERY OR DENTAL CLEANINGS OF YOUR PET. HE ADMINISTERS MEDICATION WITHOUT EXPLAINING THE REASONS WHY, AND HE DOES NOT GIVE YOU HONEST ANSWERS ABOUT THE TREATMENT HE RECOMMENDS FOR YOUR PET. HE TAKES LIFE OR DEATH RISKS WITH THE TREATMENTS HE OFFERS FOR YOUR PET. THE RISK HE TOOK KILLED MY PET. HE IGNORED THE POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING RESULTS OF MY PETS BLOODWORK PRIOR TO ANESTHESIA AND SAID IT WAS OK TO PROCEED. HE SENT MY PET HOME AFTER A DENTAL CLEANING TURNING BLUE, LACKING OXYGEN AND HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING AND SAID IT WAS NORMAL. I WOULD NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND THIS VET TO ANYONE. HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY. HE LACKS THE SKILLS TO TREAT ANIMALS AND HATES IF YOU SEEK A SECOND OPINION. BEWARE! BEWARE! DO NOT LET TODD MICHAEL WHEELER NEAR YOUR PET. RID: 13217
