I had a very good experience at this clinic. Dr. Dudzic is a knowledgeable, compassionate vet. I found her very attentive to the needs of Huxley, my newly adopted 10 year old cat. She was able to provide valuable guidance and insight into some behavioral issues we are dealing with. I highly recommend her and her staff.

I am surprised and perplexed by the bad reviews of this practice. I have found excellent, responsive care for my dog. He was very sick as a pup and he developed worrisome behaviours as an adolescent. Both of these issues were complex and we felt completely supported through a successful resolution of both. I really like Dr. Dudzic's direct, no nonsense approach. I find her, like my previous vet, to be knowledgeable and committed to animal care. I cannot speak to the monetary piece as I am new to BC vets. And I personally do not care about punctuality bit as in my experience, almost all of the health care professionals who were committed and competent (animal or human) tend to run late for their appointments. They finish the job. I think Oak Bay Pet Clinic is great.

I agree with the bad reviews, sadly to late for my girl now. I read these too late, and when the Pharmacy they deal with tells you to go else where and offers you names of other vets, listen. The doctor needs lessons how compounding works, she has consistently messed up a sick cat. Its about money, poor care, cant remember what meds they gave last visit, try taking notes. Does not listen, hears what she wants. The cat was also treated for an infection she never had. It made matters worse. there were signs and warnings I should have listened. We assume Vets are in the business to look after our fur babies, they should know about their care. I have learned do not assume. With heavy heart this weekend I see another vet and say goodbye to my best friend sooner than I needed too.

I would NOT suggest this Vet to anyone, EVER!
As everyone there is LOONY, AGGRESSIVE, and does everything they can to SELL you EVERYTHING they can. From medications to pet food. By fishing information out of you and examining your pet for any bs reason. There even seems to be a CONSPIRACY to get your pet SICK.

I was given a free exam because I adopted a cat through the SPCA. I was very impressed with Dr. Dudzic's knowledge. When I had questions after the examination the staff took the time follow-up with me on both issues. I thinking that is exceptional considering that I didn't have to pay them extra money.

My experience with oakbay vet clinic is ..the vets knowledge on exotics such as rabbits is very lacking ..punctuality is something she is also lacking .Very pushy on sales of totally not needed foods and supplements which have a horrific mark up .Clients are pressured in to buying what I'd call magic potions..totally not needed but clients are pressured and buy only out of guilt .This veterinarian should really do more research on pocket pets and show more compassion for her clients ...also an investment in upgraded aquitment should be considered for her staffs safety.

Agree with the other posters--the vet is a big upseller and doesn't seem to care much about the animals. The receptionist was also rude and unfriendly. Wont be going back.

There seem to be some people who have had good experiences with this vet, so I am glad for you. But sadly my experience confirms what other negative reviews have said. After a long wait, she came in and upon a brief examination, began listing a number of things my cat "needed", and telling me the scary consequences if not done. She walked out, not to be seen again, and her staff handed me a shocking estimate of nearly $700 (including conveniently the food they sell). My cat is relatively healthy and that particular issue was largely resolved through brushing and increased water in his diet (cost: $0). I took him to Lake Hill clinic for a second opinion on the other issues she noted. He told me to try a different cat food but didn't even try to push the stuff they sell, and upon examination made a solid case for why I shouldn't worry about the other stuff either. The $75 I spent on that second opinion was well worth it and I'll be going back to Lake Hill from now on.

When you're one of the best in town, other less competant people will try to knock you down, but the truth still remains - Dr Dudzic's clinic is very accomadating and competant. The staff know their stuff and are easy to deal with, and Dr Dudzic is a warm and caring vet who will always put your pet's well-being first. We have had top notch service and advice from this clinic. Based on some of these comments, I'd say some people need to rethink their financial commitment to having a pet - it's about quality of life and Dr Dudzic gets it.

I went to Dr. Dudzyk several years ago when I had an elderly cat. It is interesting to see these comments about her overprescribing medications, as this is exactly what I felt she did as well. And it seemed to be all about the money. Even when my cat was near the end of her life, all this vet wanted to do was put her on yet another and another medication, none of which were doing my lovely old kitty much good at all. The day that my sweet old girl actually ran away from me when I approached her (because she clearly thought that I was going to shove another pill down her throat) was the day I stopped the meds and went to another vet.

We have been taking our dog Zoe to Dr. Dudzic since we got her as a six week old puppy fourteen months ago. Since our first visit Dr. Dudzic and her staff have given us fantastic service and clinic care. We were new to Victoria from Nanaimo when we got Zoe and were not familiar with any veterinary clinics. Fortunately our new neighbours recommended Dr. Dudzic and her Oak Bay Clinic to us. We would not hesitate referring anyone to Dr. Dudzic or her team.

Dr. Dudzic has the habit of not allowing for prescription refills for pets on long term medication. She wants you to bring the pet in every month for a refill. If you plea with her, you may get a temporary, low quantity refill, which is just enough time to find an available appointment. Why? Money. I have brought my pet in several times and was told each time to continue with the existing medication. This vet also lacks original thinking in diagnosis; each time I had to bring in my own ideas, which she would agree with. After ordering $450 in tests, the doctor does not call back until she is nagged with repeat phone calls. She has a regular habit of cancelling appointments, leaving early, and hiring locums. She has no flexibility for staying past 5 PM. Always trying to push for expensive food, and are open on Sat. just for food sales, but no Dudzic. Food sales must be very profitable. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and this is probably why this clinic is still in business.

I made the mistake of taking my dog to Dr. Dudzic at Oak Bay Pet clinic more than once. First time I thought maybe she was having a bad day and was flustered by being late. Second time, same thing, I had to wait for nearly 40 minutes for my appointment. Both times she was acting as though she had something to prove and I felt belittled and pressured. Turns out that she was way off base with what my dog's issue was and now that we are going elsewhere, my dog is healthy and I have confidence in my present vet. Go with your gut or better yet, don't go to Oak Bay at all! There are many other good vets in this city and Dr. Dudzic is NOT one of them. I feel sorry for other people who are pushed around by her and pressured into feeling guilty about knowing what is best for their own pet. Go elsewhere if you love your animal!! Expensive, way overpriced too.

Reading these reviews it looks like someone has a personal problem with Dr Dudzic. I've been taking my dogs to her for years, and she is an excellent vet. I trust her because she knows what she is doing and she cares.

Dr. Eva Dudzic is a very very bad Vet! I strongly recommend you to find someone else. I have been visiting her regularly for over a year now with lots of visit for my pet. She is always late, and like 15 to 30 minutes. Her main problem is that is always pushing expensive tests, and products on her patients. She makes you feel bad and gives you attitude if you refuse. She is very moody, sometimes very friendly and sometimes barely talking.

I have been taking my pets to see Dr Dudzic for over 9 years now and I have to say that after reading the comments from disgruntled people my opinion would be that there has to be some personla reason for their complaints as I always have great treatment for me my husband and our pets, we have 2 cats. We are always given the best care and Dr Dudzic is the most caring vet I have ever met throughout all my years of having pets. we are always told before hand what treatments are needed any madications and it is shown to us with an estimate before going ahead with any test or procedure. I believe Dr Dudzic to be of the highest regard towards our animals and would never go to see anyone else. There are always going to be unhappy people in these situations as I truly believe it comes from unhappy lives. Thank you for all your great service to Dr and staff at Oak Bay Pet Clinic

I took my cat in to this vet and she overprescribed a lot of medications. I felt that it was only about the money, not my cat. She also didn't warn me of the toxicity of one item she gave me and my cat ended up having liver problems as a result. In my opinion vets should, just like any human doctor, let you know what the possible side effects of a medication are so that you can make an informed decision. The stuff she gave us didn't even have a label on it and now my cat could die as a result!

I've liked some of the staff at this clinic, but lately they seem pretty rude and the Vet is always trying to upsell you something else. I find them stressful to deal with because they always want me to bring my pet in, even when it has to do with an ongoing prescription, so it seems to me they really care about the money more than anything else. I wouldn't recommend this Clinic.

Brought pet in for regular check up and was scared into getting unnecessary procedure, and was then charged for another visit when we had to come back to get what we were there for the first time. During the second visit was told the pet would need another procedure, refused because of previous experience and was told in a very malicious way that in that case we would just wait until the pet got sick to deal with the non-existent problem. Felt that they were rude, insulting and were just trying to get money out of me.

I think it's not right when one writes something that's not good with this Vet & it gets deleted everytime.I thought one could write good or bad about the Vet's on this board, but it seems one is not allowed to do so with this one which, deny's what this board is suppose to be all about.I've had dealings with this Vet in the past & also heard since about this Vet, by quite a number of people & She doesn't care about the Animals as for her, It's all about How Much Money she can get out of them.I wouldn't trust this Vet, with any animals & I never would recommend her to anyone ever! Unless you do want your animal to get sick or die, as she is very good at doing that to them.As she also never calls to find out how the person's animal is doing after a procedure or surgery either.Which is the law with the Veterinarian's Board for B.C.
