This was a good vet clinic until VCA took it over last December. Now, the attitude of the staff has changed, the prices have gone up, and the service has gone down. The vets themselves are still great.

New resident to Ellijay but we LOVE appalachian. Great large faculity, they even have a special grieving room. It is true that they dont offer emergency services but Dr Lewis the owner gave me his personal cell phone number to call if I had a after hours problem. There is a close after hours clinic called North Georgia Animal Emergency Hospital located about 12 miles away. Overall a great hosptial with warm caring staff that really know what they are talking about.

Great visits, 3 so far. Doctors are very kind and friendly...wish they could handle all emergencies so I didn't have to go 60 miles to GVS hospital, but they are good at what they do.

Have gone to this vet several times, being a new pet owner I found them very informative, some might take this as trying to get your money but I knew nothing about caring for my new dog, that's why I went to the vet. Thanks for teaching me how to care for my dog, I wasn't able to do everything, but I'd rather know what to do so I can start saving up. Their staff was so nice, they even carried my dog food out since I had my hands full. I've never been in a vet's office before but it seemed very clean and actually smelled great! I would definatley reccommend this vet to my friends, I already have.

I totally disagree with the last comment. I have been going to the Appalachian Animal Hospital for years and the have always had wonderful experiences. There lobby is always kept tidy and the staff is compassionate and caring in all means. They try to educate their clients so that they fully understand what is the absolute best for their animal(s). Some people are just uneducated and want to blame someone else for not knowing how to care for their animals. You shouldn't have a pet if you cant afford the health care that is needed. Just like having children. Dont blame the animal hospital for what you dont do to take care of your pets

If your looking for some body who doesn't want any thing but your money, here you go. I have (HAD!) been a regular client for years and always like the small town feel of the clinic and its old owner. Now they have a new owner and management and something happened. I had to wait an hour, in a dirty lobby. then the exan room smelled like urine. The staff keep pushing for stuff that my dog didn't need. Much less the money to pay for. I asked questions as to why I needed to pay this money and the staff was completely uneducated on what they were even tring to sell! I guess they cared more about the money than the care of my pet. I will never go back there ever again!!
