I have been attending this vet for years with my 2 dogs and have spent countless thousands of dollars having evaluations and treatments done. But have found recently the level of service and care to be less than satisfactory. I took my little female yorker-poo in with a suspected throat issue and was presented with an estimate of $750 to run tests that seemed over the top. They came back to us with a reduced option and after discussion we opted for a comprehensive blood panel to determine if she had an infection and were told we'd have the results back in 2 days. 2 Days have passed and nothing so I called and was told the results are in but they won't be calling me for a further 2 days because the vet that saw her is not back in until then. Why another vet can't read the results and inform us of the situation is beyond my understanding. This is a veterinary hospital for god sake. In the meantime my pet is suffering. I will be looking for another vet sadly.

I want to thank the vets and the wonderful support staff for their kindness and compassion when we had to put our much loved dog down. They didn't rush us and ensured our privacy. After they spend quite a bit of time making 5 footprints of Juno for every member of our family. Thank you for making our worst day a little bit better.

My experience with Fairfield took place just over a year ago, although it's taken me time to compile my thoughts. My strictly indoor cat had escaped, resulting in a terrible accident. She was found near death by someone who took her to Fairfield. I had received a tip that it was my kitty now at Fairfield. I called to inquire if this was indeed my kitty, the secretary who answered my call had assured me that this was definitely not my cat (still alive at the time). I had then gotten a second tip that my cat was at Fairfield, at this point I drove there to make sure for myself. The kitty there was in fact mine, and had already been put down. Still, upon this discovery the secretary at the front had the audacity to argue that the cat, who without a doubt was my Sasha, "ha(s) less white than the cat in the photo." As I sat there sobbing at the loss of my baby, a stranger felt the need to tell me the picture didn't match. The vet was incredibly empathic, but that experience has jaded me.

took our pup there during regular office hours and wound up being quoted a 100 dollar emergency fee, which balloned to 115 dollars on the bill, then had to pay a further 68 dollar exam fee to get pain meds for a sore back. would not recommend this clinic to anyone on a low income.

I took My 9.5 year old Lab X here because he wasn't eating and he was having trouble going to the bathroom. Took him in they did all their regular stuff and when listening to his heart the vet asked if he was a nervous dog I said no so she suggested given his age we should do a full Blood Panel @ a cost of over $300 to determine if all of his major organs were functioning properly. Blood work came back and she said he looks really health for his age and everything was in the "low to normal" range. They sent me home with gastro food an anti-biotic. I had to take my dog back the NEXT DAY TO HAVE HIM PUT DOWN!! He had a heart that was so enlarged that it was taking up most of his chest cavity! Now tell me how my $300 blood panel couldn't have told the vet this?! I will NEVER take a pet there again. At a total loss

I brought my cat Strunzo to Fairfield for an emergency. They saved his life. I am greatful and cannot say enough about how wonderful each doctor, nurse and receptionist is at this vet. He needed to be sedated to have a catheter put in because his urethra was blocked. The staff here are all very caring and do their best to comfort you and assure they are taking the best possible care of you pet. He is currently with them still. They have accommodated visits for us to spend time with him over the last week, and even texted us pictures of him coming out of surgery. You can call 24/7 to talk to a nurse or doctor for updates or just to check in. I see some comments about the cost being high, I just want to say.. This place does cost more to operate because they are open and fully staffed for over twice the time as any other vet in our area. They are there and fully prepared to save your pet anytime you need them day or night. Thank you Fairfield!!

While I am appreciative that they helped my dog on a emergency basis for a broken leg, I am appalled that they held my dog hostage from another vet that was ready to operate all because the payment wasn't received. The financing company told them that all was a go and that they were waiting for one more piece, yet they still wouldn't release him. His operation could have been completed the day prior had they let me take my dog. Then after I call one vet money hungry (which they are) she threatens to hang up the phone.Never will I ever use Fairfield again even though I have used them for the past 5 years for all 4 of my pets. Never again Fairfield, never again. The front desk staff are amazing it's the vets here that need to realize why they entered this field..... The money or the animal. What vet refuses to release a dog for an operation over money for which they know they will get.

Have always taken my cats and dogs here Knew was the most expensive Today booked my dog for 4 to have him put down 20 years old felll asleep with him and so hard. Phoned to have it put until tomorrow. Told they are very busy and may not be able to accommodate. Not one who ever complains or speaks up. But this is huge to me!!!compassion and caring aside from the $ I have spent!!!

If you need to go to this place because of an emergency(after hours and your vet is closed), be prepare to spend a lot of money for just a broken paw, they will include in your bill things that you can not believe. But you can say NO, I did not agree with most of the things on the "quote" they gave to me before doing anything to my dog, thank god for it, then the vet tried to "negotiated" with me, ridiculous. The only thing this place care about is how to take money from you. I will contact the veterinarian association to complain about this place. It was the most "outrageous" experience in my life.

Went there 2 different times - dropped in with my new puppy that needed boosters and wanted to add them as a new vet for my 3 animals (new to the area) another time with my cat who need to be checked up. Both times I left without service. First time they said to come back another day they were too booked up - but there was no one in the place and they claim to have 5 vets? the other time they wanted an emergency fee of $100 on top of the check up price of $76! They were still open regular daytime hours and hadn't even known what I wanted to check up. Their prices are very high in general -quoted $490 to spay my cat! ridiculous! I don't know how vets claim to help animals but charge so much and just keep charging for every little thing. That/s why people can't afford to take their animals for care until its too late sometimes :(

Been going here for the past 5 years. In my opinion they are the best. I see people are complaining about the cost, well vets are not cheap to begin with (especially good ones). If you want a discount vet, be my guest, but my animals are priceless. For the location, I find the prices reasonable. I go here for the location, friendly staff and amazing service. I received a welcome gift bag with treats and toys, birthday cards for my pets in the mail, updates on when they are due, we partake in their photo ops and costume parties, etc, etc. They are like a family, I highly recommend this place!

After going through several vet clinics in the Okanagan, I finally found one where I feel they care as much about my dogs as I do. Having 2 giant breed dogs can be very expensive but I always feel they try to find the most economical solution without jeaprodizing my dogs health and well being. Where other clinics suggested outrageous complex treatments and ongoing tests, the vets at Fairfield only recommend what is necessary. I have been with Fairfield for over 10 years, have dealt with all of the vets, in emergency situations and otherwise and I have never had a negative experience. My dogs love all the staff there too! I highly recommend this clinic.

I have been taking my pets to Fairfield for over 10 years. I have always found their staff and veterinarians to be friendly, knowledgable and caring. Whether I have needed emergency care, long term treatment for a dog with cancer or regular check ups and dietary advice for my pets I have always left feeling that the people at Fairfield truly cared about me and my pets. I regularly recommend them to anyone looking for quality care for their pets.

I had to bring my 10 year old kitty into the emergency services on an evening weekend b/c he wasn't breathing very well. After x-rays Dr. Casey had to drain over a cup of fluid off his tiny lungs. (not an easy task with a moving pissed-off cat!) Dr. Casey knew immediately it was heart failure and didn't sugar-coated his poor prognosis. She was very easy to talk to and called me throughout the night with updates on his condition. I opted to do a $500 utrasound at Central Valley so I could know in certainty how poor his prognosis was. Results confirmed Dr. Casey's diagnosis and he was treated as per the cardiologist.Staff(Brenda Patterson) called to ask how he was doing +was supportive + understanding, she didn't try to push me into unnecessary re-examinations or further costs, ect,.I truly believe she cares more about the animals than the $. When his breathing became laboured again I was able to make the decision to euthanize him+ was greatful to have Brenda and Dr. Casey by our sides.

I am very glad to have an emergency hospital such as this one available for when I need it, but I wouldn't recommend this clinic for routine animal care. I've found them to be rather costly and quick to prescribe antibiotics to conditions which could be treated and cleared with less aggressive therapies. (I work in healthcare so I have some idea of when antibiotics are necessary). The staff are courteous and generally helpful otherwise.

Over the weekend our dog was run over by a dirt bike and I suspected that she broke her leg. Her wrist joint was severly swollen and she yelped any time she put weight on it. We drove her to Fairfield and the Vet examined her and took X-rays. She was given a splint to keep things aligned while she healed. She did not break her bone. I was pleased with the service I received, however, I found the $519 bill for weekend service, 2 X-ray images, and a splint to be a bit steep.

I was shocked to read the other ratings for this Clinic. My experience has been MUCH more positive as it has been for many of my friends. The front end staff has always treated myself and my furry family with great respect and compassion. They are never too busy to listen to my concerns or share in the joy of a new pet. The Doctors have been nothing short of fantastic! My dog has a chronic skin issue that has been difficult to bring under control. They made every effort to get to the bottom of the problem with medication, diagnostic testing, a change in diet to a hypoallergenic food and they even offered to refer us to a specialist if I would like. Over the course of several weeks I recieved periodic calls from the nurses to see how my dog's skin was doing, did he like the food and did I have any questions. A couple of times the Doctor called personally. My furry family will continue to enjoy the exceptional care and compassion provided at Fairfield Animal Hospital!

the worst place on EARTH!!! to take a pet. they are not an Emergency rated facility. They took our dog for 24hour care and put him in a corner without bringing up "core temperature post surgery - by another facility which we will recommend but this site just ignored our pet/friend and refused to give our dog a blood transfusion despite our many requests! We know this industry very well. This group does not.
