I have been going to LHAH for about 30 years and have not once even thought about changing. I ask questions and always receive answers. The front staff have always been courteous to my pets needs. Few weeks ago when we had to put our beloved cat to sleep we could not have asked for more out of staff as well as doctors. They were extremely professional. I usually see Dr. Ricklefs but happy with the others doctors as well. Dr. Ricklefs happened to be out of town when we made our decision but sent me a personal note after. My pets are special to me and my choice of doctor(s) as well. Yes, I have had to wait at times but anyone with common sense can tell if you pay attention there are people bringing in animals that need immediate attention and they fit them in between regular appts. Frankly I'm glad they do because I would want that same courteous if I needed it. RID: 23602
Click to report rating    1/1/10   4     2     2     1   We had been going there for six years. There was always a wait, but we figured that unexpected things can happen, causing delays. The staff was friendly. It seemed as though they were lacking in technology. Paper files, no website, no computers for records. Our dog developed an issue with lameness, and that's when 4 months of expensive and unnecessary treatments began. We asked about Lyme disease because of similar symptoms that Over the next few months her condition was not better. X-rays, lab tests, steroids, nothing would get her back too normal. They said there was nothing else that they could do there, and said we would have to take her to a specialist. Now 3 1/2 moths later, she was back to square one and we were out alot of money. We found another vet in Red Lion and went to a professional animal hospital. After sending her blood out to a lab, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease! After a few weeks of the proper medicine, she was almost back to normal. No money back, nothing RID: 15960
Click to report rating    1/23/09   5     5     5     4   We found the staff most helpful and we too have not seen this "high-turnover". Our Vet choice is Dr. Cheek, she is one of newer Vet's but is very, very good. She saved our Husky's life when other's wrote him off !!!! RID: 11343
Click to report rating    11/4/07   5     5     1     2   I've been taking my pets (and I have MANY) to this veterinary practice for years and I would much rather have Dr. Ricliffs or Dr. Pettigrew treat my pets than any of the new vets. They are very thorough and knowledgeable. I don't understand why the previous poster said there is high staff turnover...the same women at the front desk have been there for years and I see a lot of familiar faces with the vet techs. The only turnover that I see as high is with the new vets that come and go. I don't find that unusual. If they are new, they are getting their feet wet in an established practice probably before they venture out on their own. My biggest gripe is with the amount of time you always have to wait to be seen for your scheduled appointment and being put on hold a lot when you call in to make an appointment. RID: 6366
Click to report rating    12/4/06   1     3     2     1   The paraprofessional staff are excellent, and any new vet is a good bet. Unfortunately, Dr. Ann C. Pettigrew and Dr. Elizabeth Ricklefs own the practice. This is very much a money-making business, nearly to the exclusion to other considerations. You'll notice the high turnover in staff from year to year. Steer clear. RID: 1073
