Click to report rating    2/3/23   1     1     1     1   Brought a cat in with a broken leg. They refused to let the cat in without being in a carrier, informed them the cat will not go in a carrier. They would not listen. Vet came out to the parking lot with a carrier, took the cat WITHOUT PERMISSION to put it in the carrier IN THE PARKING LOT IN NEGATIVE -27°C, and of course the cat broke free and escaped. The vet had the audacity to laugh at the situation. Now, our cat is stuck outside in an unfamiliar area with a broken leg in -27°C. RID: 70575
Click to report rating    10/4/22   1     1     1     1   Last night the vet techs on staff refused to help a dying dog that had been hit by a car. They kept mentioning needing a deposit first, which we offered to give immediately. They didn’t bring a DVM to examine the dog or determine if she was alive or suffering. We ended up having to leave once we realized they weren’t going to help the dog. Went toanother clinic where it was determined that she died. The 3 staff acted in an inhumane and unethical way. They were callous and cold and allowed the potential ongoing suffering of a dog that was bleeding out. Don’t take your pet there, even if it’s dire. Go somewhere else. And read the other reviews. These guys have a history of this kind of misconduct. RID: 70461
Click to report rating    4/3/19   1     1     1     1   This was the worst experience for our 1 year old cat, whom we eventually had to put down. We brought him in as we thought that he had eaten some lilies. Over the phone, I was told that I needed to call the poison control (at a cost to me) to find out the best treatment. We took him to the clinic and he was placed on IV. When I picked him up in the morning, the vet told me that the cat continued to remove the IV and he had to try three separate paws. He even shaved one of his paws. My cat was lethargic and quite swollen, so how he managed to pull out the IV is beyond my comprehension. We then transferred him to our regular vet who took great care of him. Unfortunately, we needed to put him down in the end as it was determined that he had a heart condition and was retaining TOO much fluid. This had already started at the emergency vet. They truly care about making a profit. STAY AWAY!! RID: 67857
Click to report rating    9/14/17   1     3     3     1   The most terrible, disgusting experience of my life!!! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. First of all, when calling to ask if they were open, we were asked the size of our dog and told the price of putting the dog to sleep and then asked if we would want the ashes or paw print of the dog-first of all, I didn't realize it was a slaughter house I thought it was a Vet office to help find treatment or the problem with the dog. Secondly, we get there and we were told to sit in the area where you sit when they put the dog to sleep, didn't fill out a health history on the dog, didn't give our name, phone number nothing!!- and the receptionist said that she had to take the dog to be examined in the back by himself, we were not allowed to be there. My dog has anxiety and when he was in such state, he would've felt better if we would've been there with him, she disagreed as if she knows my dog and his behaviour. As we were listening to him from the front area crying loudly and whaling RID: 64635
Click to report rating    5/24/17   5     5     5     5   Dr. Jenna saved my pug's life. When I brought him in at 5am on Saturday morning he was in great distress. I was certain he had bloat and he was dying. She immediately gave him something to calm him down, took x-rays and attended to his gastric issues immediately. She was kind, helpful and very, very professional. I highly recommend her. She is a life saver and he went home with me later that day and he is going to be okay. I'm pretty sure that had I not taken him to this emergency pet hospital he would have died. Thank you Dr. Richards. RID: 63714
Click to report rating    3/14/17   5     5     5     5   The staff at RH Emergency Vet clinic were absolutely amazing! They literally saved my cat's life! We arrived with my cat in heart failure and essentially suffocating as her lungs were filling with fluid. Dr. Richards was quick to administer treatment and took the time to make sure we were informed about our treatment options. She acknowledged the need for a second opinion, which I appreciated. She helped us to make decisions which were in the best interest of both our cat and our pocketbook. She was compassionate and recognized how upsetting it can be to potentially lose your family pet. She provided my husband and I with a private room while we made decisions about treatment and spent time to make sure we felt comfortable with our choice. She ultimately survived - against all odds. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic. I liked Dr. Richards so much that I located her regular practice to see if I could bring my cat there regularly. Unfortunately she is too far. Thx again! Click to report rating    9/6/16   1     1     1     1   This clinic cares about profit over pets' well-being. My cat was suffering when I brought him in. The first thing they showed me is the extensive price list for various services they have. Did not provide any diagnosis and did not offer any treatment. Charged me a high amount and let me go, while my cat is still not treated. I went to another veterinarian, who diagnosed my cat and prescribed the treatment that resolved the problem very quickly, charging me the fraction of what Vaughan Richmond Hill Veterinary Emergency Clinic did. I highly recommend to use King Road Animal Hospital instead. RID: 61510
Click to report rating    8/1/14   5     5     5     5   I cannot thank Dr Greenstein and her staff enough. My old golden retriever was failing and needed emergency care. I was really upset and concerned as I hated to think of her in any pain. Dr Greenstein made her comfortable and then asked me questions. She explained things patiently and in a way I could understand. She staged and minimized the number of tests needed to make a decision in consideration of my dog’s age and health. She talked me through options and gave me time to understand and ask questions. It broke my heart, but my dog was failing and in her best interests needed to be euthanized. I cannot thank them enough for helping me though the hardest decision and ensuring my dog was as comfortable as possible throughout. Thank you RID: 52850
Click to report rating    8/25/13   5     5     5     5   Yesterday my husband and I brought our sick puppy into the clinic in the middle of the night as he ingested some medication. I cannot stress enough how incredible Dr. Greenstein and her team are. The thoroughness, care, and swift attention to our dog was amazing. They truly cared about our puppy and our needs. I am more than pleased and wish that this clinic offered general services in addition to emergency medicine. It's rare you find a veterinary team who is this professional and caring, truly. Click to report rating    7/30/13   5     5     5     5   Great experience with my sick cat at this clinic. Dr. Richards was amazing and said she would do everything possible (within my monetary contraints) and never gave up on him. My cat is still recovering but hopefully he'll make it through. One thing I did notice was that the fees for medications were actually a lot less than my regular vet who took care of my cat during the day. You would expect an emergency clinic to charge a premium but that wasn't the case. The staff were compassionate and caring and I could go there to visit anytime during their business hours. All in all, a wonderful experience during a very stressful time. As much as I loved them, I really hope I never have to go back! RID: 45961
Click to report rating    7/20/13   5     5     5     5   Absolutely impressed by this clinic. We had an emergency with our puppy, I phoned the clinic prior to arriving, they were expecting us and took care of our puppy right away. Staff was warm and helpful and even followed up with us 2 days later to find out how our puppy was doing. RID: 45712
Click to report rating    6/29/13   5     4     4     4   The vet clinic was fabulous to deal with. Both the front staff was courteous and warm and calming to both myself and the dog and so was the dr. on staff. Dr. Greenstein was so thorough and explained ever possible eventuality, was so caring and concerned for my pet as if it was her own. She made sure to explain that she was not going to be there for the weekend and since it was the long weekend and that eventhough my vet was not going to be open that this vet clinic was just a phone call away for any phone calls for concerns or just a drive away should we need a consult and to do so if we should be concerned about my dog's welfare. I got a phone call the very next day from my vet about my dog that the dr. had already reported the incident to him and had already booked a follow up. It is so wonderful to know that there is a clinic is open and is reliable, and responsible and has hard working staff that care when my own personal vet's office hours aren't open. Thanks. Click to report rating    6/10/13   4     4     3     2   first time puppy owner just had a big metal flower pot fell on her leg and the screams terrified me, took her to the closest vet to out house which was this one not knowing what to expect they were polite compassionate and considering that they were having a busy night I was happy that my puppy was taken In to get looked at in a short timeI of course was very worried of the monetary aspect of this visit, but when your faces with such a situation you kind of put it secondary, dr greenstine was very patient and informative she gave us all scenarios without being pushy and made us make the ultimate decisions of what is supposed to be done and not done and took care of our puppy, overall yes the financial aspect of the care is the overwhelming part but in any situation would I do it again? yes. Thank you dr greenstine for your follow up call and concern of out dog we can truly see you care about what you do. RID: 43051
Click to report rating    4/19/13   5     4     3     4   There isn't much variation in animal medical equipment or facilities from one place to the next, and so any clinic is only as good as its staff. Thank G-d for Dr. Greenstein and her expertise and wonderful attitude! We had a late-night puppy emergency and she went above and beyond to care for our 3 month old puppy, doing research and making calls through the night, and even calling us back days later on her own time to check in. What an amazing Dr. and overall caring person! She took care of our puppy and calmed us down with her professional care, and assured that absolutely everything possible was done for us. Coming in, we were honestly worried that our puppy may lose her vision, or worse, her eye, and are so so so happy to see her recovering thanks to the quick response by Dr. Greenstein and the rushed appointment that she set us up with within hours of seeing her. Forget about the cost - you can't put a price on that! RID: 41891
Click to report rating    2/26/13   5     5     4     5   Dr. Richards definitely saved our dog's life. She took the time to explain the diagnosis, the surgery, the risks involved and gave us both the best and worst case scenarios. It was very expensive but worth it and I had expected that it would be pricey. The environment was clean and I appreciate that we were always able to call and get an update when needed. The only thing I would suggest is having someone sit at the front desk at all times. It is a little disheartening when you walk in a it takes a couple minutes before someone comes out. Otherwise, we are forever grateful and would recommend this clinic to anyone. RID: 40713
Click to report rating    2/7/13   5     5     5     4   I will always be grateful to know that this terrific emerg clinic is within a stonesthrow of my home - and have had to use their services on several occasions over the years. With exotic pets, like an injured/traumatized dove with a broken wing, or skinny pigs in various forms of distress, they have gone above and beyond to do what they were able to stabilize before sending me to Guelph for specialized follow up. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Jenna and staff. RID: 40253
Click to report rating    2/6/13   5     5     5     5   Great clinic and staff, they helped our cat in a true emergency situation. Service was prompt, compassionate, and friendly. They explained everything they were planning on doing and outlined the cost, even stating where some costs were optional. When we picked our cat up they gave us a refund as they decided they didn't need to do one test. They also followed up two days later to see how the cat was doing. RID: 40231

1/18/13   5     5     5     5   Absolutely impressed by this clinic. Staff was warm and helpful and made my husband and I feel completely at ease in a sad and difficult situation with our older sick Lab. The vet we saw, Dr. Greenstein, was so generous with her time and clearly loves what she does. So grateful to you all, bless you. RID: 39724
Click to report rating    1/13/13   5     5     5     5   Caring, dedicated vets and staff helped care for and save our beloved puppy from the parvo virus. We couldn't have hoped for a more knowledgeable and compassionate vet (Dr Richards) who was determined to give our little guy the best possible chance at surviving this horrific virus. These were dark days and nights for us but we will forever be grateful. Based on our experience, we highly recommend and endorse this clinic and personnel. RID: 39598
Click to report rating    8/22/12   1     2     2     3   Vet techs seemed great but the vet I wound up with had a difficult, abrasive personality and seemed to have some other agenda. I found it rather stressful dealing with her. I will not be returning. RID: 36739

7/24/11   2     3     2     1   Lost confidence in this facility because we were not getting straight answers from them. We got a feeling that they were holding our cat hostage to make us spend more money. RID: 26432
