Click to report rating    5/22/18   5     5     5     5   Amazing staff and clinic. Since SPCA takeover this clinic has become amazing. Highly recommend. Ignore reviews from before 2016 RID: 66180

Click to report rating    5/6/16   5     5     5     4   This clinic has now been taken over by the BCSPCA. Dr. Mike is the new vet in town and is here for the animals. Prices are mid range and they give you options which is nice. They treat your furry friend as a part of the family and do for it as you would do for a human family member. 2 thumbs up! RID: 60507
Click to report rating    10/30/13   1     1     1     1   Doctors are supposed to care, or at least act like they do. Dr. Harvey is about as warm and caring as an ice cube. Took my cat here once and would never go back. Maybe he was having a bad day, I don't know. Everything just felt off from start to finish and then the bill was the cherry on top. You might have a better experience, ours was terrible. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. RID: 47981
Click to report rating    1/16/13   1     4     1     1   Dealt with this vet many years ago, and would never go back again. Once was enough! Misdiagnosed my dog and I was billed heavily for it. Went to Lindsay's and received a correct diagnosis at a fraction of the price, and was treated there with the compassion and understanding, which I did not receive at Harvey's. RID: 39664
Click to report rating    1/5/13   1     1     1     1   Too my Springer Spaniel to this place and Dr Harvey is a total idiot! He scared my dog so bad trying to shove his tools in his badly infected ear as a result 7 years later only I can clean his ears anyone else and he is terrified. A dinosour doctor in my books. Be aware that place is bad news and will charge you WAY too much for what they do! RID: 39411
1/19/12   3     4     4     1   I just read the above comments about this Dr. He is a money grab...told me $200 maybe $300..ended up over $700 just for xrays then he wanted to keep him for a week for $800+. He played on our emotions, told me he would have more problems with me than my dog when I asked what did they do for the dogs at night? When we took our dog he told us we were playing with fire and it could cost us 3 or 4 thousand if they need to operate! We were warned about him but he is the one with the modern equipment. My friend moved here from Calgary and asked her vet for a referral here and was told go anywhere but this place. When we were there a poor old man had to put his dog down and it cost him $899 when all was said and done. Felt so bad for this elderly couple. Money Grad and could care less about your emotions RID: 31654

10/28/11   5     5     3     4   If you want 'guess work' go to another clinic in town, if you want a proper diagnosis, go here. It is more expensive but in the end you know what you are treating & why, pet owners need to realize that one test result may easily lead to more tests, this isn't a scam to make money it is sometimes what is neccesary to get to the bottom of an issue. At the end of the day if a pet owner feels cheated, ripped off, misinformed etc it is their responsibilty to educate themselves, ask questions & demand answers. My pets come to this clinic the staff are loving & caring to them & i would not go anywhere where else for some cheap band-aid treatment!! RID: 28660
Click to report rating    10/27/11   1     1     1     1   I felt the staff were very cold and all about the money, not my pet! Over prescribing drugs, in my opinion, I would not recommend them to anyone. RID: 28649
Click to report rating    5/21/11   5     5     5     5   This is the best service I've ever had. Dr. Harvey resolved a nagging problem my dog has had for a long time. I've been nickled and dimed everywhere else in town with no results. This is certainly the "Mayo Clinic " of B.C. RID: 25133
3/1/11   1     2     3     1   We took a bunny to this vet many years ago - he did not diagnose an illness the first time and when I took the bunny back - he treated him with a med NEVER intended for rabbits. Rabbit died. Sent him a copy of the autopsy results and tons of information about treating rabbits with a letter of complaint. Never responded. Dr. Harvey was the owner/vet. We offered a vet consult with a exotic specialist (would have cost double the fee - we were willing to pay - he refused. To me, he is arrogant - thinks he knows it all and knows next to nothing about exotic care. Run!!! Away from this clinic. RID: 23235
1/8/11   1     1     1     1   This is the worst vet I've ever been to. I took my dog there once to get his nails trimmed and the vet came back to us and said that he has a bad problem with his gums(gingivitis). I didn't go there for a checkup why did he need to look at my dog?! He told us that if he doesn't get his teeth cleaned that it will cause other internal heath problems. Well I fell for all his crap and let them take him overnight for a teeth cleaning surgery. They phoned while they were doing it and said they found a hole in his tooth and it needed to come out. He made me feel like I was a bad owner because I couldn't pay the 300$ it would cost to have it taken out. The whole thing cost about 650$. And guess what! the redness on his gums came back after 2 weeks! We took him to the Lindsay vet and they said he didn't need all of that! And teeth cleanings shouldn't even cost 650$. We now brush his teeth everyday and it is completely gone! There was also no hole in his tooth >:/ RID: 21894
7/8/10   1     4     1     1   the building is nice, but that's pretty much where it ends, prices are way higher than anywhere else. I took my dog there twice for actual concerns. the first time was for a scratch on my dogs eye. after seeing the docotor they pretty much told me my dog would loose its eye without surgery. they sold me on the surgery. all said and down It was well over 1000$ and on the check up appointment which i was told would be free but I left with a 23$ bill. the doctor told me the scratch had not changed. he told me not to worry we can do the surgery again, or just let it heal on its on, since the surgery is not crucial... and they just do it to help.. the second time, was much of the same a small vist turning into a big problem with a small quote that then explodes into a large bill some how. I get told one thing from the vet and receptionist tells me something completely different. I will NEVER go back there again STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET they are the worst, I have ever encountered RID: 18689
5/5/10   1     1     1     1   This vet is AWFUL. They will quote you one very low price then add a ton of unnecessary tests once your dog is in their care. I have taken my dogs there twice and both times they have quoted me one low price- then when I came to pick the dogs up my bill was 5X what they had quoted (and wanted to add more tests). When I requested no additional tests they have made me feel guilty and told me I was denying adequate care (which I was not). They will take advantage of you when you are most worried about your pet and try to get as much money out of you as they possible can. I will never go back! RID: 17809
7/27/09   1     5     1     1   Fast food medicine. Receptionists can be rude and unhelpfull. They may have some cheaper prices but you get what you pay for, trust me! RID: 13629
