Click to report rating    12/16/23   5     5     5     5   Our dog had a seizure. We were seen upon entry immediately by the vet tech then waited a limited amount of time to see the vet. (This is our families vet. ) They dropped everything to see us. The same thing happened with our cat yrs ago when he stopped peeing. The owner Oliver told me to come in immediately they dropped everything? This is all you need in a vet but they also exceed all other expectations! RID: 70960
Click to report rating    11/8/19   1     1     1     1   Nickel and dimed on our first visit, then called in for a follow up. We were told everything was fine, but they kept contacting us to schedule more follow ups. They know you'll pay whatever they ask for your pet, and so charge you hundreds of dollars for a couple of minutes with a vet. RID: 68709
Click to report rating    8/6/19   1     1     1     1   _Was lied to twice by reception that they would be able to work out a payment plan with me. We had a very clear conversation. Drove 40 mins in traffic there to find out that they did not have a payment plan option. no staff would admit at that time to having this very clear conversation with me. Manager followed up a day or two later and mentioned a staff finally admitted talking with me when booking the initial appointment but denied lying to me and giving me this mis information that they would do a payment plan. I mentioned to the manager that I felt a discounted x ray would be appropriate in this situation. She said so we dont do that. Okay here is your free advertisement lady !! :) good day. RID: 68437
Click to report rating    11/10/18   1     4     2     2   Sloppy record keeping. The techs recorded the wrong dates for vaccines and insisted my dog needed a rabies vaccine when he wasn't due for two years. When I got home and confirmed dates by my own paperwork records, I called them and there was only blame, no real apology and no offer to refund in whole or in part the vaccine he didn't need and only got because of their inaccurate records. They also hauled my reactive and severely anxious dog out into the waiting room with other animals and people around and yelled at him when he growled about this. Not sure how they employ techs with no understabding of fear aggression in dogs. I switched clinics. RID: 67003
Click to report rating    7/19/17   1     1     2     1   Their scheduling system does not work. I send them emails to inform them of the problem and they send me spam back. RID: 64216
Click to report rating    4/21/17   5     5     5     5   Angel has been looked after well by the staff and the doctors at the clinic. I have always got proper advice and method of treatment, which has benefitted Angel more and also brought my peace of mind. Angel has been a healthy dog, thanks to the doctors and staff who regularly check his health during his annual visits. RID: 63425
Click to report rating    2/3/15   4     5     5     5   I started coming here as a child and now take my pets there. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and great doctors. The place is always clean and it doesn't have that "hospital" smell. RID: 55745
Click to report rating    3/11/14   5     5     5     5   Jane Animal Hospital has gone above and beyond with the care of my cat. He started having behavioral issues with the arrival of our second child, and I turned to the hospital for advice. They suggested several different things I could try to correct his behavior and would phone me regularly to check-in and see how he was doing. When things weren’t getting any better and he started to act out aggressively towards my children, Brigitte (one of their vet technicians) created some adoption flyers and put them up for me. When we hadn’t received any responses, she then personally made arrangements to have him placed in a loving new home. Our cat is much happier now in his new child-free home and I’m very grateful to Brigitte and the team for all of their help! RID: 50431
Click to report rating    11/24/13   5     5     5     5   Let me start off by saying that I have an absolutely adorable lemon of a mastiff. The team of staff has always been patient in answering all of my questions and Dr. Sterbinsky has gone above and beyond in researching all of her various conditions to give me all the options to make and keep my dog healthy. They also arranged for a surgeon to come in for my dog's two cruciate (TPLO) surgeries rather than having me go to another hospital which made travel arrangements easy and allowed me feel comfortable knowing she was in the best hands and a familiar environment. Nobody likes paying vet bills but for my special pup I would only trust the best and I feel they're worth every penny. RID: 48430

9/27/13   2     4     3     2   Brought our pups in for second set of boosters. They were both given bordatella vaccines, an optional vaccine we did not request. They were also given the lepto vaccine which we did consent to but we weren't given enough info on. One of my pups went into liver and kidney failure that night and it took the vet three full days to recommend we go to emergency. Having now done some research I realize the vet should've known better than to give them that vaccine, or even all three at once. The side effects of that vaccine do not outweigh the benefits. Also had a similar experience with a fecal test they never did we were charged for right after they were just dewormed. My other pup also had a severe auto-immune reaction and developed poly-arthritis. I put my full trust in them and they almost killed one of my pups and left me $15000 in debt from emergency bills. Save yourself some grief and go somewhere else where the well-being of your pet comes before their bottom line. RID: 47246

Click to report rating    4/8/13   5     5     5     5   Jane Animal Hospital has been treating my cats for a long time. They have helped us through a number of various health issues with the cats. When we first moved here, we 'tried out' several veterinary clinics near the house, but we didn't seem to 'fit' with them. Jane Animal Hospital is probably 10-12 miles from the house, but it's definitely worth the drive. They are easy to get along with, open to ideas, willing to discuss questions we may have or explain something in another way. That is both the veterinarians and the staff. Most of the staff there know my husband and I by name. I really can't imagine taking my cats somewhere else, unless it's a referral from Jane. RID: 41623
Click to report rating    12/17/12   4     4     4     3   I am surprised to read some of the comments on this site. I actually had a good experience. We are first time pet owners and found everyone to be very knowlegable and helpful. We want the best for our new puppy and they were able to offer us the best of everything. They even offered us a tour of the hospital and it was cute and homey. I would say give these guys a shot. RID: 39107
Click to report rating    10/6/12   2     4     3     1   I took my dog in and found out my bill was 200 dollars, they tried to charge me for fecal exam even though I didnt have any feces with me(which is just a way of forcing you to do the test, which will show your dog may have worms, even though you dewormed them twice with them) I called in to find out how much her next booster shot of lepto would be as I did not trust them at this point but their vet is close by. They told me 65 dollars which includes the exam(Yes they have to do an exam on a 3 week booster shot, because sticking a thermometre up my dogs bum and looking at her teeth EQUALS= 65.00$ plus tax) SO I get there and they give her the booster after asking hundreds of questions (in order to find SOMETHING they can do with the dog to charge me more$$) And they Insist on clipping some hair down there, because it wasnt very clean (I guess they dont know, dogs dont wipe their private area after pee like humans) At the end they charged me $112 I complained, but still left paying 80$ RID: 37680
Click to report rating    7/6/12   5     5     5     4   For 16 years our two cats (brother & sister)have consistently received outstanding care at this clinic. The turnover of veterinarians is low, so they came to know the health issues of both cats very well. Their computerized records have helped track histories, test results and trends. We've run into a few unusual symptoms over the years and the vets always went the extra mile to research and consult when necessary. Both cats had digestive problems and again, the clinic owner took the trouble to speak with the scientists at several pet food manufacturers about the most suitable options at different stages. The front desk staff have consistently been personable, helpful, knowledgeable and very organized -- just what you need, especially when your pet -- or the owner! -- is having a difficulty with treatments. The nurses and technicians? Superb -- always ready to explain & advise about techniques that helped us manage challenging tasks. I can't recommend this clinic strongly enough! RID: 35502
Click to report rating    6/5/12   2     4     4     1   I had taken my cat here for yearly checkups and shots (later found that the shots are only needed every 2 years) and I had mentioned that my cat drank a lot of water and (thought that was because he was active ) and said that my other previous cats had never **** so much but nothing was noted about this. However, on the cats 6th visit, I was told that he had one very small kidney and would need tests so I agreed to spend about $550 but they said that the tests were inconclusive and wanted to do an additional $350 worth of tests. I asked if they would give any answers and if they then could solve the problem and was told maybe not. Being a pensioner, I didn't feel I could afford this but would have spent the money if it could have saved the cat. I did some research which showed that it was kidney failure which is almost impossible to reverse once a kidney has shrunk. I felt that they were stringing me along to get as much money out of me as possible. RID: 34759
Click to report rating    4/28/12   2     3     2     1   I took my cat back for a bootster shot for which I was charged $45 in addition to the booster for a medical reexamination (which took 3 minutes); this is in addition to the $62 physical exam and consult I had been charged just a month ago. When I questioned this, the staff immediately said that if I wasn't happy, I could go somewhere else, and that they hope I will let them know when I find out that these charges are the same elsewhere. While I had not intended to go elsewhere, I now will. RID: 33846
Click to report rating    4/17/12   1     1     1     1   The front staff are slobs and unprofessional. A friend of mine had a very sick cat and they had to drain urine from her stomach with a needle. The front staff (Holly) had the urine sample in her pocket and by accident walked into something having the urine sample spill all over! They wanted to do another right after but it was already enough torture for one. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Second, I had went there for my cats dental surgery and he was only supposed to have 2 teeth removed--anything else was supposed to be OKAY'd by me. They said they would call if there was anything else, they did and additional procedures they did were TEETH WHITING. Can you believe it? The bill was a joke and I can say I would never do teeth whitening for my cat! RID: 33598
Click to report rating    1/17/12   2     1     1     1   It was horrible they just try to get money from you and they make up stuff to get money i will never go there again! I took my dog there and they started saying that i need this and that but i already checked him out and hes fine RID: 30623

12/4/11   5     5     5     4   Ive been bringing my cats here for quite a while now and I always get great service. I've seen Dr. White the most times and am always greeted by the same front staff. They are always friendly and always make my cats feel comfortable when they need to be brought in. They're knowledgeable and always explain everything thoroughly when I have questions. They're always available, and accommodating, and I think the monetary value is definitely equal to the quality they give. Even though I've moved, I will sill bring my cats here because it can be hard to find somewhere your really trust with your pets! RID: 29574
Click to report rating    12/3/11   1     3     3     3   Very unprofessional vet. Went in to put our 17 yr old dog to rest and he was rough with her and she yelped with pain. In the middle of the euthanizing he informed us the catheder wasnt in properly and consequently had to leave the room to retrieve more medication to finish procedure. He asked very insensitive questions and implied that we didnt know our dog well and my daughter left feeling horrible. I will never attend to this hospital again nor recommend it to anyone else. Click to report rating    10/27/11   5     5     4     4   You know, I was kinda surprised by the comments some people left. I really feel as a client of Jane Animal Hospital for almost 7 years with my cats and one that values their service I had to leave feedback so others can get a true understanding of their quality of care. It's unfortunate the rating system does not have "quality of care" as a category as this animal hospital is definitely a 5. Since taking both my cats there I have seen the same doctors, mainly Dr. Stacey. That's 7 years of seeing the same set of doctors. So, often change of doctors is NOT true. Also the same goes for the staff I usually see the same very knowledgable staff every time. That says something about the clinic and business. Second, the hospital has been nothing but thorough in helping me with my first kitten and the knowledge I need to know as a pet owner. It is a big responsibility and I want to know as much as I can regardless if I can afford everything, at least I know my options. I'll always go to Jane. RID: 28648
Click to report rating    9/28/11   3     2     1     1   Staff were friendly. Facilities were just okay. Was seen 30 minutes late. Felt like I was being sold tests I didn't need. I've been to better vet clinics. Will probably never go back. RID: 27946
8/7/11   1     3     3     1   we went here once and had a bad feeling about all the things Dr. Stacey was telling us we needed for our cat. we went to another place (bloor animal hospital, they are amazing!) and we learned so much about our diabetic cat, and just how much Stacey was trying to rip us off. including selling us allergy medicine which contains ingredients that can be very harmful for diabetics, and should not have been given to our cat. we were very upset with how little he cared about our cat. RID: 26786
7/12/11   1     3     3     1   I was new to the area and started using this vet as my original vet was too far. When I went for my puppy's annual check up, I was talked into unnecessary shots by the male vet. He advised that I should give my puppy another rabbie shot eventhough she had received one the year before and it should be good for two years. He reasoned that because it wasn't given at their clinic he couldn't be sure it was a two year shot. I should have validated this information with my previous vet but instead I gave him the benefit of the doubt in looking after my pup's best interest. It was a cash grab, my bill came out to just over $500. Coincidently, my pup began having seizures that year as well. Once I switch back to my old vet (eventhough it meant an extra 40 minute drive), she informed me he had also unnecessarily vaccinated on another item. I will never and have never gone back to Jane Animal Hospital. Back at my old vet and my pup is doing fine and has thankfully not had a seizure this RID: 26155
Click to report rating    8/26/10   2     3     2     3   We started with this vet when we got our first pug. Everything was good until we started feeding raw. Every time I had to go in for a checkup, I was scolded for feeding raw, even though I had done lots of reading and research and consulted others with lots of experience on this topic. When we got our second pug puppy and decided to raise him on raw right from the beginning, I was harshly lectured by a vet assistant. She compared feeding a puppy a raw diet to feeding a human baby lasagna with glass shards. I was disgusted and vowed never to return. In addition, I was given misinformation about the Leptospirosis vaccine and felt my questions and gathered information (again from experts in my breed) were dismissed. Most of the people working there were very pleasant though. RID: 19428
