When dealing with Dr. Basilious I got the distinct impression that selling cat food and medicine was more important than my cat's actual health. He repeatedly suggested that my cat had cancer based on x-rays he had taken, but the 2nd opinion I got from Dr. Cuellar at So-Cal Vet in Woodland Hills didn't even consider cancer an option. His words after one look at the films? "I have no idea what that is, but it's definitely not cancer." Not a single person I have shown the x-rays to since believes they have anything to do with cancer, but that was Dr. Basilious' final verdict and he immediately tried to get me on meds. He also tried to sell me cat food for kitty's "High Cholesterol", but hadn't had the cat fast first so the results weren't accurate. The other vet didn't say a thing about cholesterol until I brought it up, and then told me that they didn't normally worry about that in cats.
