Click to report rating    3/27/19   4     5     3     3   I have been with Court St Vet since 2011 when I got my boy who was rescued from a feral forest where he got infected with FIV after a fight, I'm on ODSP and do not have not one credit card, the staff has been great and wonderful and Dr. Julia doesn't beat around the bush when she's telling you what's best for your loved one, but as far as vets go, she's nothing like the vet on Welland who abuses our little fur babies, sure its not cheap to have a pet and no they don't say if you don't get the money you'll have to put your pet down, no they would work out a payment plan, well I haven't had the money at times and they allow me to have to payments if needed. I just noticed not one nice or good thing was said so I had to throw my 2 cents in RID: 67836

They only care about the money and if you don't have over $1000 up front for them they will tell you to euthanize your fur baby! Cruel, uncaring and would never go there or recommend anyone to go there. I went there for an emergency, my vet was closed and court st was on call. They did not offer any advise or even what they would do that they wanted $1000 for. I had already given them $180 to walk in. They didn't even look at my puppy for 3 minutes before saying that they wanted $1000 more and if I couldn't afford it they would euthanize him. They just try to get as much money from you as possible. I left and traveled to a vet in Vermont who was kind, caring and very informative. My puppy is running around happy as can be now, these horrible people at court st would have killed him if they had their way. RID: 65258
Click to report rating    1/23/14   1     2     2     1   I was presented with a bill for $2100 before my dog had even been x-rayed. I was told that a payment arrangement would not be made even with $500 paid on account today because she wasn't a client. My dog is new to me, and she wasn't anyone's client. Because I was unable to pay $2100 on the spot, you sent us packing. My dog was handed back to me wrapped in a towel, already in the process of giving birth. Although we went directly to another veterinary hospital, it was too late and the first puppy died because my dog did not receive the necessary Cesarean in time and the puppy was hung up in the birth canal. It would otherwise have been fine. I have no doubt that you are responsible for the death of the first puppy and I have no respect for the Court Street Veterinary Hospital. It couldn't be more obvious that you put the dollar sign before the welfare of the animals, even in a life or death situation. It worth noting that Park Place Vet charged only $800.00 for all services. RID: 49434
Click to report rating    8/11/09   2     3     3     1   I had a bad experience with this clinic; I was told not to take my pet there, even though it was an emergency and Dr Righter was the on-call vet for the weekend. My pet was kept overnight and sedated for multiple tests which I did not pre-approve, causing him to become lethargic and on the brink of death as his kidneys were failing. My regular vet informed me that an animal in kidney failure ( and not agressive ) should not have been given the drugs he was given as he was unable to metabolize them. The fee at the emergency vet was $600 , even though I did not authorize the x-rays and abdominal ultrasound that were done. When I picked up my pet to bring him to our regular vet, I was informed that I would be better off euthanizing my pet ! My regular vet examined, lovingly, my little guy and concluded that there was hope in treatment and that we were definitely not at the point of considering euthanasia! I would say BEWARE of this clinic and the uncaring vet who runs it !! RID: 13809
