I have to say I was a bit blindsided when I recently visited the office, I was completely unaware that ownership had changed hands. My dog was clearly not happy with the new vet-I feel my pet’s instincts were spot on! If she’s not comfortable, then I’m not comfortable. I also felt that there was a jump on prescriptions for the issue we came in for. I had been coming to this clinic since the early 2000’s and will be looking for veterinary services elsewhere.

The staff at this clinic have looked after our dog from adoption to euthanasia 9 yrs later. He had a lot of health issues and they were kind and gentle and professional from Day 1. We're moving soon but I'll be bringing our next dog to this clinic to see Dr. Nelson.

Recently acquired 4 year old Lab from SPCA. The SPCA assigned VET was not close to our home so we decided to take her to Sunshine Hills Vet Clinic for a once over. The staff and Dr Nelson were wonderful. They gave us a reduced rate because it was a dog from SPCA. Unfortunately we had to use Haney Vet Clinic for the Spaying - the Vet was AWFUL. Showed no compassion for dog and treated me rudely.

This was my 2nd visit to this clinic and it has changed since 2014. I was appalled at the unprofessional staff from first contact until the end of the apt. Dr Nelson did not provide service and could not properly sedate my pet for a simple shaving; insulted my cat (he is big cat at 20 pounds) and couldn't find a vein to draw blood? I listened from the examining room as the other staff gossiped and held my cat down (afraid of a gentle 20 pd ragdoll cross)for shaving. I left my cat and no shaving was done or blood taken-they made fun of his weight and looked me up and down-the initial contact with the woman at the desk was deplorable. I still can't believe it-it was the long weekend and they didn't want to put him under to sedate him properly. No one called to follow-up or to see if we were okay. I felt insulted and let down. My cat was seen elsewhere since and the vet shaved him and took blood without issue and reassured me my cat was fine, a little overweight but very healthy. Poor!!

My 78 year old mother who has mobility issues has brought her cats here for years. Three days ago one of the cats (aged 17) was not doing well at all. Your clinic, despite repeated pleas from my mother, would not book this poor cat in for an appointment for another two days.
An appointment was made at a different vet clinic where the doctor made the diagnosis that this cat was in a lot of pain and had multiple medical things wrong. Unfortunately she needed to be put to sleep.
Your clinic showed no compassion for a suffering animal who has been a long time patient. I am throughly appalled and disgusted.

Amazing care for our Golden Retriever by Dr. Gillott. We had come from an Emergency Clinic in Surrey with the news that our dog had Cancer and needed immediate surgery to..."let's slow this down a bit" at Sunshine Hills. Turns out it was likely a puncture wound that got infected. Totally healed and definitely not cancer. To think that we could have put our pet through unnecessary surgery is appalling.

$130 to have one nail clipped because the nail had grown into my cats paw? I always clip our cat's nails myself but the one thumb nail I can't because it grows so funny. Vet also insisted in antibiotics and pain killers although I objected. $60 for the consult, $30 for the clipping and the rest for meds! That is totally and utterly insane and I'm researching my options as we speak! Cat chewed the bandaid off within an hour, didn't limp at all and never skipped a beat!

never met the doctor until I came back for follow up from my cats procedure. I thought I was talking to the vet but found out it was his assistant. price much higher than another vet in south delta.

It is really quite simple. Where would I take my pet if he was really sick? Where would I take him just to get a rabies shot? You know, I think within about 15 minutes I could learn how to give a dog a rabies shot. Dr. Gillott is an intelligent, knowledgeable and caring doctor. I now travel miles to take my dog to him because I know I'm getting the best care and value....for my pet.

I have been going to SUNSHINE HILLS now for the last 10-1/2 years and I am totally impressed by the STAFF and Dr. John Gillott, I have 5 dogs, but will soon have another one, which makes 6 and I would not ever go to another Vet, the Staff and Dr. John GIllott LOVE ANIMALS AND DO EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE SURE THEIR HEALTH IS AT 100 PERCENT !!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VET TO EVERYONE TO SEE DR. GILLOTT AND DR. NELSON FOR ALL THEIR ANIMALS!!!!

After buying our puppy on impulse, we quickly realized he was very sick from distemper. Sunshine Hills saved his life and allowed our 6 year old daughter to have her best friend back. Dr. Nelson and Dr. Gillott are absolutely wonderful. We are going through the final months with our beloved dog right now, and they are both understanding, and caring. Dr. Michelle has even called me long distance several times to talk about his care. She is always willing to make a phone call and spend any necessary time to get things right. We had the option of doing a very expensive surgery to possibly prolong his life, but because he is 12, we have decided not to do that. There has been NO pressure at all to spend any unnecessary money. Both docs want what is best for him. Although this time is incredibly difficult, we know that our boy will have the best quality of life possible for his last months because of Dr. Michelle and Dr. John. I would never bring my animals anywhere else.

DR. GILLOTT AND HIS STAFF ARE TRULY AMAZING !!! I own 4 Pugs and Dr. Gillott is a True Animal Lover, and Loves the True Care to his animal patients. I have been going to this clinic for over for well over 17 years. Dr. Gillott is very compassionate and very patient. He is very responsible in keeping costs reasonable and not trying to over diagnose or over treat. His office has always been able to accommodate any emergency treatment or any needs that my dogs required. Interesting my dog actually doesn't even mind going there and loves John and his staff. I have recommended this practice to many people over the years and no one has had any concerns.

I have three dogs and one cat and they have all been under the care at various times of both Dr. Gillot and Dr. Nielson. They are both very knowledgable, caring veterinarians who genuinely care about animals and know what they are talking about. They take the time to get to the cause of a problem and will consult by phone between appointments if necessary. I do not believe they are more expensive than any other qualified vet in the area and they are worth it for the care my pets receive.I have been attending this practice for over 15 years and have been nothing but pleased with the care and attention my pets have received.

John Gillott is absolutely the best. I have been coming to this clinic since 1988 - when I got my first Doberman, Sally. Its original owner was not Dr. Gillott, but the practice became his about 7 years ago. He is, without a doubt, the best. My last Doberman, Daphne, passed away four years ago - at the age of 12 1/2. Dr Gillott was largely responsible for her incredible quality of life until the end. I adopted my first cat, Elliott, 6 years from this clinic where he arrived as a stray. Since then I have adopted two more cats (from the SPCA). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Gillott. KK, South Surrey BC

Dr. Gillott is a very compassionate and knowledgeable vet, he ensures you know what the issues are and only treats the issues that need to be treated unlike other vets that will soak you for anything and everything. although the service can be pricey, you get what you pay for, and after dealing with this vet for all three of my animals dogs and cats there is no where else I would take any of my animals, after losing my dog last year to cancer Dr. Gillott was with us every step of the way, diagnosis , treatment and the final step to the rainbow bridge he ensured our dog was given the best treatment possible. We have a new puppy now and he loves Dr. Gillot as well!!! We have since left the neighbor hood, but don't mind driving 45 minutes to bring our animals to the best vet we know.

Dr. Michelle helped us through a very trying time with our dog, and helped us to send her "Over the Rainbow Bridge". She now takes care of our new puppies, and does a great job! Very caring.

Dr. Michelle Nelson has been wonderful with my cat. Unlike other vets, she never pressured me to get his teeth cleaned or to get any other services. She dealt with an ongoing elimination problem, working with me to try different interventions at my comfort level and pace. She slowly escalated the interventions, one at a time to see what would work. I was reluctant to move his litter box (among her first suggestions--and FREE) but when I finally did, I found out she was right! Michelle is a very good vet and cares a lot about her patients. She spent quite a lot of time with me on the phone at no charge, helping me through the frustrating task of my cat's problem. As for price, I found it reasonable, especially compared to Vancouver vets. I feel that the staff are worth it--they're very friendly and helpful. My cat is now in a new home (partner has asthma) but I would recommend Sunshine Hills to anyone in the Delta/Surrey area.

We have had excellent care here. After my dog was improperly neutered at another animal hospital and left dehydrated and violently ill, we took him to Dr. Gillot who, along with the staff, nursed him back to health. Our experiences here have always been fabulous. Perhaps it is pricey, but that's what pet insurance is for. The price is well worth the excellent care our pet receives from Dr. Gillot and everyone else at Sunshine Hills Vet Clinic.

Michelle has been wonderful over the past few years in helping my aging animal enjoy her final years. I was never talked down to and both Michelle and John determined my understanding of the condition and then gave me the options that would be considered. When I get a new dog, I will return there.

Staff is great, sensitive, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Gillott is first rate in every aspect. We found Dr. Nelson to be very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly, but didn't diagnose with the accuracy that Gillott did, although she's still very good. On the down side, come with a full wallet, they aren't cheap, but they won't scam you. You'll know full well what things can cost before you may have to pay, but be prepared for a nasty tab.
