Cat was taken in for a cough and lethargy and was diagnosed with bronchitis via X-ray. This first trip cost over $200. Cat was given antibiotic for 10 days and symptoms went away for about a week and returned. We returned to Gulf Gate for review. Cat was given more of same antibiotic for a longer period plus testing for heart worms and intestinal parasites. It was explained that the Cat was exclusively indoors and parasites were very unlikely and tests confirmed no parasites. Before intestinal parasite test showed negative, Cat was also given a intestinal parasite medicine that made the Cat very ill and had to be stopped after just 1 dose. The total cost for the return visit was over $300! In the end, the longer regimen of antibiotic cured the Cat, as should have been the first and prudent, cost effective course of action.
