I was very disappointed with Dr. Allison for not helping to end the suffering of my 14 year old lab mix, Merlin. All of my dogs were patients until 2 years ago. Merlin is old and tore a ligament in his knee the last time he saw Dr. Allison. Since then I have not taken him back to the vet since it is not easy for him to load up in the car to get his shots, etc. About a week ago Merlin stopped eating and I could tell it was the end of his life. This morning Merlin is obviously dying and has even defecated on the porch of his doghouse and has lost control of his hind legs. I called Dr. Allison to see if he would make a house call to help Merlin die with less suffering, but was told that he would, except he has not seen Merlin in 2 years. I explained why, but they still would not help him. You would think that Dr. Allison would be more concerned with helping to end the suffering of an old dying dog than he would about keeping an old dog on his shot schedule
